CommonCents Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) I don't blame him, it would be hard to catch passes from an 18 million dollar QB who has limited game experience.http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000678115/article/deandre-hopkins-skips-texans-camp-stages-holdout Edited July 30, 2016 by Beerball
Blokestradamus Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 GM just got a new deal. QB that's proved nothing got that payday. Big problem if they can't get Brock in rhythm with him.
Doc Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 They're going to have a good ton of money tied up with 3 players.
John from Riverside Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I mean...the way I hear this he was AT CAMP and just got up and walked out
Billschinatown Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 the good old days when people honored their word How far back we talking?
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 the good old days when people honored their word easy to say this, but only one intimately familiar with the terms can reasonably assert this. A hold out could even have an explicit terms and consequences in the deal, should that path be chosen.

YoloinOhio Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) Texans say they are not negotiating. He is set to make just over 9 mill through 2017 per spotrac. Edited July 30, 2016 by YoloinOhio
Virgil Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 He's on his rookie deal and missed a whole season. Sorry, this is how it works. I feel no sympathy for him. He can bleed teams after this deal is up, hopefully get his extension next year
Augie Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/07/30/deandre-hopkins-didnt-leave-camp-he-never-reported/ Don't take all the fun out of things with....you know.....FACTS. What a wet blanket. Geez.
FloridaSnow Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 the good old days when people honored their word I would agree with you if the contracts were guaranteed. This is a two-way street in the NFL.
Augie Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Bruce Smith was, in my opinion, the best Bill ever. But when he would hold out shortly after a new deal, because he was no longer the highest paid defensive player, I would have let him sit until he was ready to report (and his fines were paid). The NFL is NOT other leagues, and I don't like fully guaranteed contracts. Hey, maybe that's just me.
fridge Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 That was one of the most dreadful articles I've ever read. It was unprofessional and full of hyperbole: Playing with a cadre of crappy quarterbacks last season... The 6-foot-1 wideout is a highlight machine. He's the NFL's premier boundary receiver...
Marty McFly Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I mean...the way I hear this he was AT CAMP and just got up and walked out holy ****. lol thats crazy. I wonder what triggered that? I know its a 0.00000000000007% chance of happening but imagine if Rex pulled a rabbit out of his hat and stole Hopkins for us? Our passing game would improve instantly.
YoloinOhio Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) Welp, he really showed them @sportscenter DeAndre Hopkins returns to the Texans after ending a brief holdout from training camp over his contract. Edited July 31, 2016 by YoloinOhio
3rdand12 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Welp, he really showed them @sportscenter DeAndre Hopkins returns to the Texans after ending a brief holdout from training camp over his contract. much ado about nothing then?
YoloinOhio Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 much ado about nothing then?he is holding a press conference right now about his one-day holdout Guess he wanted to make a point but not too expensive of a point
3rdand12 Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 he is holding a press conference right now about his one-day holdout Guess he wanted to make a point but not too expensive of a point Lol'd quite likely true. 40k adds up
Big C Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 He's on his rookie deal and missed a whole season. Sorry, this is how it works. I feel no sympathy for him. He can bleed teams after this deal is up, hopefully get his extension next year Are you thinking of Clowney? Hopkins hasn't missed a single game yet.
