Kirby Jackson Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 @viccarucci According to NFL sources, #Bills have protected themselves w options, but satisfied Tyrod Taylor's desire to avg. $15M per yr in salary. Basically a dream deal for the Bills.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Ladies and gentlemen, we have a franchise QB contract. Fixed that for you. Want to see actual franchise QB performance before I start in on the Hallelujah cantata.
Kelly the Dog Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 That's a good deal for both sides if true. Tough to know until real details come out. The Bills obviously loved what they saw in the off season and in training camp so far. He's really a fierce worker and wants to be great and does all the right things. Has become a true leader. Let's see how that translates to the field and to wins.
Kirby Jackson Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Fixed that for you. Want to see actual franchise QB performance before I start in on the Hallelujah cantata. $15M a year with team options is a HR for the Bills.
Guest K-GunJimKelly12 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 So this deal kicks in following the upcoming season, or no?
DrDawkinstein Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Fixed that for you. Want to see actual franchise QB performance before I start in on the Hallelujah cantata. Not really. $15M/year is mid-tier nowadays.
EmotionallyUnstable Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I'll just assume doom the safe play This makes me think back about the Clay restructure. I wonder if they were confident they could get the deal done and needed money this year.
Tenhigh Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 FTFY. Jesus, we just signed a QB to a long term deal. Just enjoy that we don't have to worry about losing him to FA next year instead of digging in under the bridge.
Big C Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 $15M a year with team options is a HR for the Bills. Absolutely.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Don't forget I was mocked for saying the Bills should take care of Taylor before the season began. Edited August 12, 2016 by PromoTheRobot
YoloinOhio Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 @rapsheet The #Bills have signed QB Tyrod Taylor to a 6-year deal, source said. Helps them cap-wise, but expect some flexibility after 2 years.
nucci Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Jesus, we just signed a QB to a long term deal. Just enjoy that we don't have to worry about losing him to FA next year instead of digging in under the bridge. Do you know who you're talking to?
YoloinOhio Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 @spotrac Tyrod Taylors $15M AAV (initial reports) NFL: 32nd QBs: 23rd #Bills: 2nd
26CornerBlitz Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 @JohnMurphyShow #Bills GM Doug Whaley on @TyrodTaylor "Undeniably the leader of the Buffalo Bills"
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Haven't seen the guarantee number or how its structured. Id imagine the guarantee number in the 30 range. With a few team options at the end to lessen a blow if we need to replace him. The team options are also probably pretty reasonable if he's good though - so it works both ways. I remember people saying kaepernicks was bad for him, but they still haven't replaced him, and keep paying him his big checks. Edited August 12, 2016 by dneveu
Big C Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 So this deal kicks in following the upcoming season, or no? I think this is a new deal that voids the old deal. It would say "extension" otherwise, I think. @spotrac Tyrod Taylors $15M AAV (initial reports) NFL: 32nd QBs: 23rd #Bills: 2nd Flippin' awesome!
thebandit27 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 For reference, this puts him 23rd amongst QBs in AAV
