Traditionally the media was made up of well understood outlets. You knew who was covering your team and the range of choices (at least by comparison today) was pretty limited.

Now, anyone with the desire to do so, Internet access and a device can present themselves as media covering the team. What are your thoughts on the proliferation of these types of outlets? Who is good, who is bad and where is this phenomena just ugly?

90% of the time that stuff is garbage.

True, but it's the other 10% that's interesting.

I trust Astro's camp notes more than any official media outlet.

Astro's camp notes belong in the other 10%.

For better or worse the whole social media that we live in now has changed everything rather it be politics, crime or sports. Anybody with a outlet (PC, Tablet,Phone) can throw **** at the wall and if it sticks its news rather its factual or not.

I trust takes/info of those who have a track record of being right, and I dismiss those who have a track record of being wrong. If I don't know them, they have to prove their accuracy first.

truth.

and to add substance to a post, there are lots and lots of us who cant WAIT for promo's camp reports. I'd say that counts as a media source. kinda. He doesnt hold himself out as media per se, but he performs that function for a small group of us.
