Captain Hindsight Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 It's between Hobert and Tuel for me. Tuel was better than i thought hed be actually. Brohm was rough
Kirby Jackson Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Tuel was better than i thought hed be actually. Brohm was rough Tuel threw for like 300 yards in that game. They moved the football. He is not good (or talented) but there have been many worse performances.
eball Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 He won the game Tells you all you need to know about assigning W/L records to QBs. It's a team game.
WotAGuy Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Ed Rutkowski. Hard to believe but he was a better County Exec than emergency QB. Would have beat Raiders in Oakland if he hadn't fumbled at the one yard line. 3 starts, 3 losses: 41 Completions 100 Attempts 41.0 completion percentage 380 yards 0 TDs 6 Ints 27.1 rating Edited July 19, 2016 by WotAGuy
DC Tom Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Mathison. Every time, in the past 15 years, people here start complaining the Bills' QB is the "worst ever," I think "You never saw Bruce Mathison play, did you?"
Just Jack Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Did BJH start one? Billie Joe Hobert and Brian Brohm were horrific. Billie Jo Playbook. It's not even a contest. Billy Joe Hobert for me. They've had some terrible players start a game but I think that a guy that didn't even know the plays takes the cake. It's between Hobert and Tuel for me. Hobert did not start any games, he only played in two games as a backup.
GunnerBill Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Brohm just worse than Tuel in my 14 years as a fan.
JoeF Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) When you combine an 0-3-0 starting record and the following stat line: 29 Completions 79 Attempts 36.4 completion percentage 364 yards 4 TDs 7 Ints and his amazing 10 - 26 record as the Bills head coach.. I gotta go with Kay Stephenson...best thing about Kay is that he led to Marv....who may be the best mid-season replacement coach in NFL history.. Edited July 19, 2016 by JoeF
Kirby Jackson Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I don't know if Travis Brown or Stan Gelbaugh ever started for the Bills. They were awful. Brohm is probably my answer. He was supposed to be a star, ended up as a 2nd rounder and then was a terrible pro.

Gotta love a guy who was not only that bad a QB, but also thought the key to a good passing game was changing the color of the helmets...
KD in CA Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Bob Brodhead (1960): 4 games, 1 start, 1-0 (!!!), 7/25 for 75 yards, 3 INT -- QB rating 0.0 Undefeated as a starter!! People here would have been screaming to give him a long term contract. Edited July 20, 2016 by KD in CA
Mike in Horseheads Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Gotta be between Leo Hart and Joe Dufek. Joe Dufek won a game in replacement players, I think 6-3 against the Giants. Matt Cassel... Didn't he start opening day last year in a trick play that gained nothing? If so he started a game and had no yards passing!
K-9 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Gotta be between Leo Hart and Joe Dufek. Joe Defect gets my vote. GO BILLS!!!
Marty McFly Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Leo Hart, 1972 stat line: 6-15-53-0-3 and sacked 4 times. 0-1 as a starter. holy ****. thats not good.
Red Squirrel Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) If have to throw Gary Marangi's name into this competition. In 11 games in 1976, Marangi's completed 35% of his passes with 7 TDs and 16 INTS. While I still lean toward Mathison, this is a good candidate, too. He was brutal; there would have been no single game record or final rushing title for OJ without this clod scaring the coaches away from throwing when behind. But again, I've got nothing to offer on anyone who took snaps prior to Ferguson. Edited July 20, 2016 by Red Squirrel
Buffalo Barbarian Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 So who would you say was the worst QB to start and play at least one regular season game for the Bills? BJ Hobert Leo Hart, 1972 stat line: 6-15-53-0-3 and sacked 4 times. 0-1 as a starter. winner!
JoeF Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Kay begat Hank "they took the sails out of our wind" Bullough, who begat Marv... Good catch eBall...forgot Hank....damn...
