33 Commonly Misunderstood Words & Phrases

A couple of other bastardizations I've noticed more and more where I live include:

- "Supposably" instead of supposedly

- "Acrossed" instead of "across" (when did this **** happen?)

Here is the infographic:

I would assume "supposably" is a cross between "supposedly" and "probably." But I don't know, nor do I really care.

I telegraphed my post below, before the grammEr Nazis criticize my grammar.

What role (edited because of AC) does AutoCorrect play in this, did they use it on this cheat sheet?

Another think coming? What happens when somebody has another THING coming TO them?

Grammar Nazis thou protest too much, as is usual. Some are rEdiculous, but some that are ridiculous are just because many, if not most, like all, phonetically pronounce their words before typing it out on the keyboard.

AnywayS, they don't know their Judas Priest anyway:

"One life I'm gonna live it up

I'm takin' flight, I said I'll never get enough

Stand tall I'm, young and kind of proud

I'm on the top, but as long as the music's loud

If you think I'll sit around as the world goes by

You're thinkin' like a fool 'cause it's a case of do or die

Out there is a fortune waiting to be had

If you think I'll let you go you're mad

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

That's right here's where the talking ends

Well, listen, this night there'll be some action spent

Drive hard callin' all the shots

I got an ace card comin' down rocks

If you think I'll sit around while you chip away my brain

Listen I ain't foolin' and you'd better think again

Out there is a fortune waiting to be had

If you think I'll let it go you're mad

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

In this world we're livin' in, we have our share of sorrow

Answer now and don't give in, aim for a new tomorrow

Oh so hot no time to take a rest yeah

Act tough ain't room for second best

Real strong got me some security

Hey, I'm a big smash I'm goin' for infinity yeah!

If you think I'll sit around as the world goes by

You're thinkin' like a fool 'cause it's a case of do or die

Out there is a fortune waiting to be had

If you think I'll let you go you're mad

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing ahh

Comin' on now

You've got another thing comin'

Yeah yeah yeah yeah

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'

You've got another thing comin'"

Hunger pains bad? Ticky tacky, I say!

I admit, affect/effect still gives me trouble sometimes.

Myself suppose. I know I am suppose to have proper grammar and supposeD to put that pesky D on.. But who the eff cares, gets me faster to the to...And to begins w/a "t" which almost sounds like a "d".

Again, ticky tacky.

I did not know "another think coming."

Yeah... JR! WTF!

Did anybody fact check this out? Another think coming, you gotta be kidding me? That's not how most use it. Well, most normal non-Nazis. I cited the Judas Priest song... LoL

My sister-in-law once used the expression:

"Nip it in the butt."

I almost fell off my chair. Barney Fife would be livid! LoL

I did not know "another think coming."

Right?

It doesn't really make sense to me, because the purpose of the phrase is to explain to somebody that something is going to happen that runs contrary to their thought. It's going to happen whether they think it will or not, right?

Irregardless, none of this matters to me because you'll never here use that phrase. If you think it's gonna affect me, your wrong.

I will repeat, just for you, if you think that then I'm here to tell you that you have another think coming (because I am right and you are wrong).

Have you wet your whistle? If so you need to go to PPP and whet your appetite for controversy.

:-P

EDIT: Did anybody catch this edit? He he!
