PromoTheRobot Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) I vote 2. Hold a scrimmage if you must. The NFL wants more games but all the really need to do is extend the season. Add a second bye week. It will make the season longer without adding more games, and it will give players another week to recover. Edited July 13, 2016 by PromoTheRobot
eball Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Yes, 2, and add another bye week so you can guarantee no team plays Sunday then Thursday during the regular season.
Rocky Landing Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I'm cool with four. I think it's the right amount.
deadbeef Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Its currently 4 games and the starters only play 6-7 quarters. I think the backups and rookies need the reps to learn. 4 is ok.
Blokestradamus Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 It's a roster evaluation period. 4 is absolutely fine. Am I the only one that actually enjoys preseason games?

Blokestradamus Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 You like preseason games? Why? I love watching these guys compete for a job. There's something beautiful about watching someone give everything to achieve their dream. I'm the kind of nerd that takes notes during preseason games.
machine gun kelly Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Here's my proposal that won't happen until the new CBA and would make the players and owners more money. 2 Preseason games 2 Byes 17 Game Season A 3rd wildcard team giving Ong the best record a bye vs. 2 teams. Increase the active roster to 53 on game day and a small increase to the roster maintaining the current number of practice squad guys. More players for depth means more rotation for the extra game in the season. Lastly, increased TV contract with 14 network TV TR night games providing a lot more TV revenue. This will generate a lot of money both the owners and the players would receive so contracts keep going up.
Gugny Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I wouldn't mind seeing the preseason games played without pads/tackling. I think a lot can still be accomplished, with regard to running plays full speed/evaluating talent, and the risk of injury would decrease significantly. If they could do that, I'd still be cool with four. If they feel the need to play preseason games as if they actually count, then I would like to see no more than two.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I think so. 2 preseason games and 2 more regular season games.

Mike in Horseheads Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I for two, adding another bye, leaving the schedule but adding another wildcard. One team getting the bye in each conference would make that last week more important (maybe).
Seasons1992 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Two games only, expand the rosters for the regular season, and make week 9 the official bye-week for the entire league. They can brand it "Back to Family" and all the significant others are happy.
