Beerball Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Detroit will use Edsall to assist with clock management issues on game day. Detroit joins TB (right?) in hiring a game day coach. http://www.detroitlions.com/news/lions-insider-short/article-1/Caldwell-explains-Randy-Edsalls-role-in-Detroit/43601e58-0cf0-41a0-a1ad-854214f8ad8d Why does Rex not see how much he needs someone to oversee operations on game day?
YoloinOhio Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) My understanding is that Rob is going to help free up Rex from some of the defensive specific stuff on Gameday so that Rex himself will then focus on the operations/clock management. If that doesn't work there is always the Chaplain James Trapp. I was kind of surprised at this role for Edsall in particular. His career is almost entirely college coaching except for 3 years as DBs coach for the Jags in the 90s. seems that could be more confusing than helpful in controlling Gameday stuff in the NFL since there are differences in rules and such. But I do like the idea of adding someone to do that. Edited July 12, 2016 by YoloinOhio
