BuffaloBill Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Ok...I know a purposely unamed receiver who left for the hated Cheats* was nicknamed 7/11 because he was supposedly always open. His stats hardly suggest this was true. However, during games and times that counted what Bills receiver was most likely to be open when he was most needed? Keep in mind this could be any player who could be on the receiving end of a pass (i.e. Others besides wide receivers can be named)
Kirby Jackson Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Is this all-time? If not, are we talking besides Watkins? Otherwise it isn't much of a thread. I'll assume that we are talking besides Watkins and say Charles Clay. He has a nice skill set.

gomper Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 You'll laugh, but Tasker ran great routes and was always open.
Augie Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 If not Sammy or Andre, I loved Bob Chandler. That's not anti- Haven Moses or Lofton, or any others, but just a "like-factor". You'll laugh, but Tasker ran great routes and was always open. I'm not laughing, I wish he got more chances.
BuffaloBill Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 You'll laugh, but Tasker ran great routes and was always open. Yes, the story is that Kelly asked for him to be on the field because of his ability to get open.
Gugny Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Hogan's stats didn't show it because we have crap QBs. I'll go with Scott Chandler. Fitz found him in the end zone quite a bit.

QB Bills Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Stevie. The guy just flat out could not be covered one on one by anybody.
machine gun kelly Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 It's true Stevie used to school Revis, but he also had crucial drops. He did play on a bad team.
Gugny Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Okay, now I'm positive that you are the best troll on this board. Well done Gug!! I wish I was kidding.
Kirby Jackson Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I wish I was kidding. If you could take any Bills player ever to get open you'd take Scott Chandler?!?
Gugny Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 If you could take any Bills player ever to get open you'd take Scott Chandler?!? I don't believe that's what the topic is, but I may have misunderstood. My understanding was that we were to name a Buffalo Bill who was consistently open over his career as a Buffalo Bill. I think Chandler was always open (I also believe he was under/misused and underrated). If you're asking who I would take - ever - to get open ... I'd choose Andre Reed every day, all day.
Seasons1992 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 You'll laugh, but Tasker ran great routes and was always open. No laughing here. Every time he was on offense he was open.

Mike in Horseheads Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Butch Rolle. 10 consecutive catches for TD's.
Seasons1992 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Butch Rolle. 10 consecutive catches for TD's. DAMN, totally forgot him. He was ALWAYS open.
boyst Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Eric moulds was something special with his ability to get the ball even in coverage - which helped him be open. Any other team for him he would have been a HOF
