BuffaloBill Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Classic tech issues - prices are dropping but content in 4K will not be broadly available until more sets are in homes. 8k TV's supposedly coming. Has anybody got 4K UHD yet? If so, do you think it is worth the extra cost now or is waiting better? Do you have hidden issues, perhaps you had to buy additional hardware to support it or use it? We are moving and I have to get a new TV to better fit the space in the den/ TV room - just not sure I should spend the extra money on UHD now.
BUFFALOKIE Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I actually sorta don't like them. It gives an odd 3D effect that i cant get used to. It is certainly a crystal clear picture, though. My mom and step dad bought a 100 inch, which is a ridiculous size for their small living room. I have no idea what they spent. I definitely won't be buying one until prices drop.

I thought my 80 inch HD was huge.... Does size matter?...
plenzmd1 Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 (edited) The answer to all your questions here: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-resolution/4k-ultra-hd-uhd-vs-1080p-full-hd-tvs-and-upscaling-compared?uxtv=66f1 I think the really relevant chart is the distance/size does it make a difference chart.Human eye can only detect so much. ChevyVanMiller Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I bought a 50" Sharp last week on sale for $550.00. The picture is awesome, but it does look weird at first. Can't wait to watch Bills and Sabre games this fall.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 My BIL bought a 60" for his newly finished man cave. He absolutely loves it. I watched a bit of the Germany v Italy game on it while I was home last week and it was pretty awesome.

ALF Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) Good deal on one now at Amazon Prime Day or even better at Walmart trying to undercut them There's a Samsung 55-inch 4K Ultra HDTV available for $598, or 50% off. Walmart launched a month-long "Rollbacks" promotion on July 1, and upped the ante on Monday when it announced free shipping on all online orders through Friday. http://money.cnn.com/2016/07/11/news/companies/walmart-amazon-prime-day/ Edited July 12, 2016 by ALF
Canadian Bills Fan Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Question, I dont know how it is in the States but here in Canada, there are only a few channels that are 4K In fact, as of right now, I think its only hockey games on one channel. And you need to buy a 4K HD box from our cable company Is it the same kind of deal for you guys? CBF
