Tyrod Taylor: It's Better to be Talented than Traditional

Cian Fahey sets a Football Outsiders record for GIFs while explaining what makes Buffalo's quarterback so unique

Arguments can be made for a few quarterbacks, but Tyrod Taylor is the only other player who definitively fits the mold that Newton and Wilson share. Taylor was the only other quarterback in the league to rush more than 100 times (103) and for more than 500 yards (553) last year. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman, someone who has previously found success with a rushing threat at quarterback in Colin Kaepernick, allows Taylor to be creative when plays break down while also designing specific plays that put the ball in his hands attacking the line of scrimmage. Taylor is a great athlete, someone who can make defenders miss in space, outrun angles with his acceleration, and break off big plays with his long speed. More importantly, he's a smart quarterback who understands when to run and when to keep his eyes downfield to find an open receiver.

Isn't Cian Fahey just Chan Gailey's drunk alter ego?

I thought he was a replacement ink for my printer.

New year.

I want to see if our offensive line continues to improve.

I want to see if Sammy is healthy.

If those 2 things happen' watch out. Taylors numbers may not be as good, but we have a great shot at making the playoffs.

I cant explain it but I just have this feeling that Tyrod is finally the QB we have been waiting for.

I really hope the Bills re-sign him

If he is...they will.

Question I've always wanted to ask you...why the 4 or 5 carriage returns and then "CBF" on every post? It seems like it adds a lot of wasted space to each post.

He comes from a country where they only sell beer in government run stores, only open on weekdays, closed on weekends, evenings and holidays (precisely the time people buy the stuff).

If you're looking for logic from a Canook, you're barking up the wrong Maple Tree.

I believe that Tyrod will take the next step. I don't know if he will ever be a top 5 guy but I can easily see him in the top half of the league (which is good enough to win). He showed the signs in his 1st year of being a good QB and looks to have improved this offseason. He has a special skill set and has produced at every level. I don't know why we wouldn't be optimistic about his chances?

Ha. It is a bit odd, though. Do you think we can't see who created the post, so you have to "sign off" each time?

Not a big deal, but I'm always curious about stuff like this.

I agree, not top 5 but certainly top half. My biggest concern is injury, then reading the whole field and finding the middle. Not saying he can't or didn't, maybe he was often just taking what was available.

CBF (I like it - think it's catchy, did I do it right?)

I think what the defenses do this season and how Roman and TT counter or vice versa, cuz its gonna happen, will be the answer long term.

I pray the O line's right side settles in quickly and confidently.
