cage Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Not sure what he would cost at this stage, but we do need a RT... thoughts?
Kirby Jackson Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I'm on board. It's really low risk at this point. He's a high ceiling guy and I would think that he comes cheap. Sign him on an incentive laden 1 year deal based on the number of snaps he plays. Sign me up
Canadian Bills Fan Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I still think he will want too much    CBF

Long gets a chance to prove himself and possibly get one last long contract next year. The Bills get to kick the tires on a guy who was good enough to be the #1 overall pick. Â BTW, is there a worse feeling than having the #1 overall pick and drafting an OT?

Imagine if you had the 1st overall pick and took Eric Fisher?!?
thebandit27 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Been calling for it since March, so yeah, I'm on board
nucci Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I still think he will want too much    CBF he doesn't have any leverage to demand a lot
C.Biscuit97 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Ha ha, no!! Imagine if you had the 1st overall pick and took Eric Fisher?!? Ha. Smart teams would trade down to #2 and get stud OTs like Gregg Robinson, Jason Smith, or Robert Gallery.
aristocrat Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 kind if like richie in that he sat last year and got his body healthy according to him. curious as to why the bucs brought him in a month ago and didn't sign him.
dpberr Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Probably asking for a reasonable amount BUT wants it guaranteed. Â The thing I'd worry about is his left ACL. That can't be too far behind the twice torn right one.
CountryCletus Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 If we have the cap space, why not? The only downfall that I can see is that it would inhibit the growth of Henderson and Kujo.... Then again, they can still make strides in practice and in a rotational role... Count me in for this... Â I suppose they could also want to roll some of that cap money over to next year.... I'm not crazy- that's a thing, right? Was pretty sure I remembered hearing something about being able to roll a certain percent of unused cap space from one year to the next...
BarleyNY Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 He played some RT in college. Has he just been at LT in the NFL? You'd think he'd be worth a long look and that his salary demands would be reasonable.
Dragonborn10 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Very little difference between LT and RT. I would bring him in. The RT situation is at best not good and there is no good back-up options for LT. Sign Gilmore then use the cap savings to bring Long in. Seattle will sign him to veteran minimum deal. Give him one year guaranteed $750K.

Sign me up I'd be all in on this move to finally shore up that RT position and also give the RG some help at the same time.
