Mr. WEO Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 'Shocking ... frustrating' At least Fitz knows the Jets want him. Poor Wilkerson.
White Linen Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 No doubt the two issues are connected. They are in a difficult spot. Exactly. Yet players say it's a business when it suits them - but get frustrated when the team is in a difficult spot.
26CornerBlitz Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 Exactly. Yet players say it's a business when it suits them - but get frustrated when the team is in a difficult spot. You can't expect players to express things from management's POV.
White Linen Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 You can't expect players to express things from management's POV. But they expect management to only care about how they feel.
BarleyNY Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 He's recovering from his broken leg still anyway. None the less, he should sign his tender as that would put the ball in the Jets court. He's going to get some big money. They can whittle away a little of his $15.7M cap hit, but I'm guessing not a whole hell of a lot. Wilkerson hasn't signed his franchise tag yet? I'm betting he's getting a "Remember, NO FIREWORKS!" text from his agent every hour.
FireChan Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 But they expect management to only care about how they feel. Pointing out player hypocrisy never goes over well.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Pointing out player hypocrisy never goes over well. Lotta big Union fans on this board
26CornerBlitz Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Wilkerson won't say if he'll report to Jets' training camp in July
Saxum Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Most vets want to skip training camp if they can get away with it. I think it is why some schedule surgery at time they do it.
26CornerBlitz Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 @RapSheet #Jets 5-yr deal for Mo Wilkerson is for more than $85M, source said, with $54M in guarantees over 3 years. $37M fully guaranteed thru year 2
CommonCents Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Good for Mo bad for anyone in the AFC East trying to block him.
Blokestradamus Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Congratulations to the big man. One of the most enjoyable guys in the league to watch 14 games of the season.
YoloinOhio Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Fitz up next ... They needed this to happen to fit him under the cap
Beef Jerky Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Fitz up next ... They needed this to happen to fit him under the cap Going o be good to see Fitz crumble again.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Fitz up next ... They needed this to happen to fit him under the cap God i hope so. Talk about throwing bad money after good.
YoloinOhio Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) God i hope so. Talk about throwing bad money after good. haha I will maintain my stance that they are better with Fitz than without him this year based on what is behind him, but that's still not good enough, and they will be lucky to go 8-8 with that schedule. And they will have wasted money on Fitz. They have an old roster at the skill positions and are just delaying the rebuild. Edited July 15, 2016 by YoloinOhio

There is zero chance he wins a meaningful game...he never has. The best case scenario for Buffalo is for Fitz to resign and start for the Jets. .
