@BuffNewsVogl

Though he was only one facing legal questions, Evander Kane shrugs them off as something that happens to athletes.

Allow me to be shallow and self-serving but I'm glad to see Kane take this attitude. Don't let this distract you from a 30+ goal season. Play well, make the playoffs, don't get in anymore trouble and I'm good.

That's the rub, isn't it?

Just stay out of trouble long enough to trade him or expose him to the expansion draft. Really Kane is fine during the season.

The other Kane certainly shrugged off his allegations.

And that's the reason they simply will not cut him. I do think they will try to trade him all season, but his on ice skills are too valuable to let him walk for nothing.

My brother is in town with his family for the weekend for a wedding. They went to camp today and I'm getting text after text with pictures of my 6 year old nephew with random players. It sounds like the team is very welcoming to the fans for all of this.

I'm excited about the Sabre season, I think pieces are coming to together and they can make a push for a playoff spot.

Wish they could have got Vesey. Don't understand his choice. I would have chose Buffalo on a line with Jack, or Chicago with Kane and Toews an parlay that into big bucks couple years later. Rangers? IDK

The below link is an interview with Dan Bylsma from Sabres.com. Bylsma is a very thoughtful coach who is straightforward in the way he answers questions. He understands the process of putting together the components of a roster in order to build a team. He and the GM seem to be in sync and both give the Sabres a credible staff to compete against the rest of the league.

Just an observation: Hockey players are the most articulate and give the best interviews in professional sports. Pro basketball and football players are tongue tied cliche riddled dullards compared to the men on skates.

Not really as they still speak in cliches mostly full of nothingness.

Even when speaking in cliches there is an articulate and coherent manner in which to express oneself. It's my opinion that hockey players express themselves much better than the players in the other sports. In an interview setting there are limitations to what can be said. Without a doubt it is a very restricted setting. But that doesn't mean that it isn't obvious that the hockey players are much more adept at verbalizing their thoughts than do players in other sports.

I listen to plenty of hockey player interviews and I don't see them as any more articulate. Hockey has its fair share of dumb jocks just like the other major sports do. Andrew Peters is exhibit A.

Agree. Interviews with all athletes suck. I have no idea why there are so many of them.
