LB3 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Mark Stone is one of the most underrrated players in the league.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Not a good effort tonight. @BuffaloSabres That's it, game over.
ChevyVanMiller Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Not a good effort tonight. @BuffaloSabres That's it, game over. They looked, and played, like a team on the second night of a back-to-back. I still hate the constant line juggling and does anyone else think that this team is really poor at executing line changes?
boyst Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Was atr garbage game tonight. An ex was six rows ahead of my date and I. Hahaha I was in 103. Great seats. Not a good effort tonight. @BuffaloSabres That's it, game over. effort was great. Shots on goal was high, goalie kept them in it. Edited January 14, 2017 by Boyst62
QCity Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Should've played Linus. Not that it would have mattered though with our D standing around watching the game.
shrader Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Should've played Linus. Not that it would have mattered though with our D standing around watching the game. I didn't not know if I've ever seen a better opportunity to switch goalies than after the tied goal. I probably would have done it after the second.
plenzmd1 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) See, they sucked me in a for a minute...not again. This team, especially the backened, is just not good enough. I mentioned during the Tampa game Risto had another 10 minute period...i think these 30 minute nights stacked are starting to wear his ass out, and it shows on the ice. But what else can Disco do? Problem is, I don't see it getting any better next year outside of Guhle. Maybe someone can tell me of some gem D that I am not aware of, but i don't see anyone. However, looks like they are stacked at wing in terms of prospects....which leads me to Kane and or Foligno got to go for D , plain and simple. I would straight up go Kane for Fowler, but don't think Anaheim can do a money in/money out deal based on what i have read. i don't have other ideas as I don't know other teams needs, cap room etc...but GMTM got a mess on his hands back there, and he better get it fixed or we in for more of these years. And I know he is hurt, but Kulikov trade still looks awful...be sure nice to know you control Pysck for a few more years...how in the world can you resign Kulikov to any number Edited January 14, 2017 by plenzmd1
eball Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 1st period was fun...then the game went to schitt in a hurry. Tons of Sabres fans in a 1/3-empty arena too.

Were you the naked guy wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots being escorted by security out of the arena in the second period?

JohnC Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 yes!!! I wore my cowboy boots. Security was lazy People weren't laughing---they were snickering. I guess it is true that size matters.

JohnC Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I didn't think anyone noticed. How can it not be noticed? After seeing the junk you were bringing to the event it's evident to all that you are a real ballzy guy!
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 He didn't mess up, he made a move that hasn't been great to this point. He has made several moves that were good, including Nilsson. We finally have a GM that is willing to take chances, they are not all going to work. But Lehner is a good goaltender. I hope Nilsson continues to play well, I have my doubts that he's an everyday starter. But if he can be, Lehner is a great backup to him. I think Tim is a good GM, just this particular instance was mistake, Lehner has never been great and that first should have been used on someone else. We could have used that pick on one of Ottawa's elite prospects. The problem with the Lehner deal was not his acquisition it was the cost (as you noted). He was a goalie that the Sen's were looking to replace. He also was hurt so that should have diminished his value. This is a conjecture on my part but because he is so big and plays a position that calls for lightening quick responses it makes him prone to being injured. In the comparison between Nielsson and Lehner it seems to me that Nielsson is quicker and more composed. When lumbering Lehner goes down he stays down. However, having two quality goalies is certainly an asset and a good thing. In my judgment Lehner is not better or worse than Nielsson or even Chad Johnson. So why pay a premium price? If you have doubts on whether is a full time goaltender yet he plays well when guarding the net there is a simple solution: Rotate the goaltenders, even if the rotation is not evenly split. As I said in another post it is an asset to have two solid goaltenders and nothing to lament about. Lehner was an intriguing goalie prospect because of his size. But the Sens had a surplus of goaltenders and were moving on from the injured Lehner. The pick that was used for him could have been used for one of the elite prospects that Ottawa has in its pipeline. For the most part the questions regarding the goalie deal has to do with the cost and not the talent. That is a very valid criticism.
4merper4mer Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I think Tim is a good GM, This has been proven to be astoundingly incorrect. A blind monkey's left butt cheek could have picked Eichel. GMDB has screwed up every other move he has made while he acts like a tough guy. He even said he was disappointed getting Eichel when he got him. People on the football board are constantly all over this Grigson guy from the Colts. How is Murray any better? Seriously. Half the damn teams in the NHL make the playoffs and this guy is on a 37 year plan to get the 8 seed. If he was screwing it up on purpose because his uncle hated Buffalo, THEN he would be doing a fantastic job, And yes the goalie with the neck tattoo is horrendous. I'm not as worried as you about the loss of the 1st because it isn't the same as in football, but Lehner is bad, injury prone and unstable. He is far more likely to murder three people in a fit of rage than he is to win a Stanley cup.
