Blokestradamus Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 If we lose to Wales today, I might go and jump off the nearest bridge. Must finish better, must stop Harry Kane from taking set pieces.
meazza Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 If we lose to Wales today, I might go and jump off the nearest bridge. Must finish better, must stop Harry Kane from taking set pieces. Why they always play Rooney who hasn't been good in nearly a decade is shocking to me.
KD in CA Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/vicious-russian-hooligans-at-euro-train-and-prepare-to-fight/2016/06/13/dab7c4b4-316c-11e6-ab9d-1da2b0f24f93_story.html This is insane. World Cup in Russia in 2018 ? I say change the venue. Come on now, this is soccer. Russia paid good money - and plenty of it - to host the tournament.
Blokestradamus Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Why they always play Rooney who hasn't been good in nearly a decade is shocking to me. United and England have been playing him out of position for most of his career. He's never been an out-and-out striker. The midfield role is better for him and I think that he's played well in the first 2 games, minus the pointless foul that led to the Bale free kick. I've been a long time critic of him and the way he's been used.
/dev/null Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Friday, June 17 Italy vs. Sweden -- Toulouse (9 a.m. ET, ESPN) Czech Rep vs. Croatia -- Saint-Etienne (12 p.m. ET, ESPN) Spain vs. Turkey -- Nice (3 p.m. ET, ESPN) Why are Italy and Sweden even bothering, if both are going To Lose? And what's so nice about Spain and Turkey?
Canadian Bills Fan Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Italy trolls the world lol Barely lol CBF
Canadian Bills Fan Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I think this fits here.... TIL that in 1992 Denmark didn't qualify for the European Championship. However due to sanctions because of the Yugoslav War, Yugoslavia were excluded and Denmark took their place, eventually winning the Championship CBF
Cugalabanza Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Man, Portugal can't catch a break. They still will be in to the knockout round if they can beat Hungary.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Man, Portugal can't catch a break. They still will be in to the knockout round if they can beat Hungary. Portugal #@!ING sucks CBF
Canadian Bills Fan Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Go Wales !!! Beat the Russians !! Good luck Whales! I would love to see them do well CBF
Blokestradamus Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 In preparation for England's next game, I shall paint a wall in my house and watch it dry. A good team will make us pay for being so bloody wasteful. So much was made of taking so many attacking options and none of them could hit the broad side of a barn.
Saxum Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Group stage schedule: Friday, June 10 France vs. Romania -- Saint-Denis (3 p.m. ET, ESPN2) ________________________________________ Saturday, June 11 .... Sweden vs. Belgium -- Nice (3 p.m. ET, ESPN2) I did not know tiddlywinks was a popular spectator sport nor ESPN covered it.
Cugalabanza Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 I did not know tiddlywinks was a popular spectator sport nor ESPN covered it. Good one
Saxum Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Just saw CNN headline: Terror in Paris Below it was a scene of a soccer game/ First time in long time I agree with CNN. And no I have no choice of what is on TV where I work; we are supposed to have CNN all the time but sometimes the Chief Watch Officer changes it to soccer. Lovely.
Cugalabanza Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Hoping (for CBF's sake) that Portugal beats Hungary today and advances.
