Rocky Landing Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Our QBs wouldn't be doing that? We already have 3. Why would they need this guy to be throwing the ball in camp? Serious question. You never know when a slippery rubber matt might come sneaking up behind them.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Our QBs wouldn't be doing that? We already have 3. Why would they need this guy to be throwing the ball in camp? Serious question. I think they will keep 3 on the final 53 man roster. I don't think Cardale would be safe on the practice squad. Whether it is this guy or not, I think they will keep bringing in guys until they find a good PS QB. Good to have the right guy learn the system in camp too.
GottaRun Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Our QBs wouldn't be doing that? We already have 3. Why would they need this guy to be throwing the ball in camp? Serious question. Do we still have Enemkpali?

Doc Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Did a search just to see who he was and found this: Why Matt Johnson is the best developmental QB in the draft
Saxum Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Did a search just to see who he was and found this: Why Matt Johnson is the best developmental QB in the draft It makes him sound like Tyrod except not a runner.
Mr. WEO Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Did a search just to see who he was and found this: Why Matt Johnson is the best developmental QB in the draft Two clips of him throwing to wide open receivers.
Doc Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) Two clips of him throwing to wide open receivers. Hey, I'm just pointing out the article. I don't know who he is and I've never seen him play so I can't comment on their analysis. Just found in interesting. Edited June 10, 2016 by Doc
NoSaint Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Our QBs wouldn't be doing that? We already have 3. Why would they need this guy to be throwing the ball in camp? Serious question. Can be convenient for drills and such as a serious answer. Is there a downside to a 4th arm?
Blokestradamus Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Still got a smile on my face over this. Been a huge fan since his sophomore year. Hip injury in the first game of 2014 derailed his growth but he's got talent. If we could stash him on the PS for a while, that would be ideal.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Camp arm. He's got a gun but at 5'11 short by NFL standards. https://www.profootballfocus.com/draft-matt-johnson-may-be-the-best-developmental-qb-in-the-draft/ In that pic he looks to have tiny hands...
Nanker Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking? Trade Tyrod for a 1st! Brilliant! JR for GM! Two clips of him throwing to wide open receivers. Here's some more:
bonechiller Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Brilliant! JR for GM! Here's some more: Looks like a quick compact throwing motion, not horrible, seen a nice little pump fake too. And as far as "camp arm", they need 4, if I remember correctly, the ran 2 practices at a time last year, why not 2 qb's each.
Captain Hindsight Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Our QBs wouldn't be doing that? We already have 3. Why would they need this guy to be throwing the ball in camp? Serious question. So the guys who actually play in the games that matter aren't worn out when the season starts
Doc Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 He already was cut by the Bengals even though reports from rookie camp were positive. Eh, a no risk pickup.
Sisyphean Bills Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 He throws it kinda side-arm style. Definitely unorthodox. Yep. Better to have a guy with accuracy problems.
Mr. WEO Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Can be convenient for drills and such as a serious answer. Is there a downside to a 4th arm? Not sure, but this third leg sure can be an issue for some.. So the guys who actually play in the games that matter aren't worn out when the season starts If the guys who actually play the games are worn out by training camp, we're doomed.
JM57 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Dude can ball, not sure if he's an NFL player but you could have worse options for a camp arm.
John from Riverside Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Watch him come in....beat out EJ Manuel for the number 2 spot Then fans will B word that we drafted CJ's and didnt draft this guy instead
C.Biscuit97 Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Watch him come in....beat out EJ Manuel for the number 2 spot Then fans will B word that we drafted CJ's and didnt draft this guy instead I'll bet you on that.
