YoloinOhio
Colts reportedly offered Andrew Luck a 10-year deal http://horseshoeheroes.com/2016/06/08/colts-reportedly-offered-andrew-luck-a-10-year-deal/ Colts owner Jim Irsay, meanwhile, told WISH-TV in Indianapolis in February that Luck’s deal would be “shocking.” It appears he was referring to both term and overall dollar figure. Irsay, sources say, originally wanted Luck under contract for 10 years — essentially a lifetime contract that would be a rarity in the NFL. Once the organization came off that offer and settled on a more realistic five-or-six-year offer, the gap closed.

Mr. WEO
Strange offer. This isn't the NBA or MLB, so what would be the point for either side? How much could be guaranteed? The length of the contract is meaningless really. If he sucks after a few years, he's either dead money or untradeable. If he's the best in the league year after year, he will be underpaid at some point.

TheFunPolice
would a great young QB take a slightly less inflated contact if it was 100% guaranteed? From the team's perspective, if he's great you're paying the $$ anyway. Maybe you get an extra year for your $$

machine gun kelly
Irsay has now moved onto sniffing glue. Just kidding, but this wreaks of a PR stunt. I'm sure Luck will get a great contract, and e'd be lucky to have a generational talent like him. F the Colts would build an O-Line, and running game around, not to mention a defense, maybe he wouldn't be getting the serious injuries he had last year. Could you imagine him with our team? Our defense should bounce back, the line and the running game. Sorry, daydreaming for a minute.

Saxum
For that big of a contract he might as well guarantee partial ownership of the team. And what happens if he loses his desire to play like a lot of athletes after they get the big contract and they know no more are coming?
