The Buffalo Bills are tight in the middle of the pack in Pro Football Focus' NFL roster rankings released by ESPN this week. They sit 14th overall and 7th in the AFC, three spots behind the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos for the final playoff position in the AFC.

14 sounds about right, but it's hard to take the rankings serious when they have the Eagles listed at 5.

Eagles have a good roster. Not a lot of weaknesses there. The thing is though having elite talent in the right places.

Ehh I think they are lacking at skill positions. WR's, CB's, and QB are all question marks. I like their D front but that's not pushing top 5 just look at some of the teams behind them and compare skill positions.

WR and CB yeah, QB is decent with Bradford. Its mostly based on their individual grades. Just because the overall roster is good doesn't make you a good team.

I find it interesting the Bills ranking has improved from last year.

I just clicked on all of these links and don't see a list. That's fine. 14th sounds fair.

If our defense gets the scheme, TT develops as we hope or expect, and we have manageable injuries, we'll contend.

A lot of if's.

Im putting this on coaches, not players. Players attitudes have to be right, but coaches need to put the players in position to play at their ability.

Rex seems to have changed a lot by making the scheme more simple.

You need ESPN Insider to see the full list.

14. Buffalo Bills

Top five players: DT Marcell Dareus, OG Richie Incognito, OT Cordy Glenn, CB Ronald Darby, DE Jerry Hughes

Starters who should be upgraded: OG John Miller, OT Jordan Mills, WR Robert Woods, LB Preston Brown

There is a lot to like about the Bills. Tyrod Taylor's 2015 season was a huge boost to a team that previously had one of the worst quarterback situations in the league. He was far from perfect as a passer, but he looked more than viable in his first year starting. He also added 405 rushing yards while scrambling and another 151 on designed carries.

The defense could be even better than it looks if their top three draft picks make an immediate impact. Pass-rusher Shaq Lawson has already undergone surgery to repair a damaged shoulder, but linebacker Reggie Ragland and defensive tackle Adolphus Washington could both plug huge gaps with a good debut season.
