meazza Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Isn't a bit ironic that a significant number of Americans are against the UK's desire to be independent of the EU, especially given that the holiday that celebrates our own independence is less than a week away?
Deranged Rhino Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Hey - I don't look like that. Is this closer?
What a Tuel Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) Isn't a bit ironic that a significant number of Americans are against the UK's desire to be independent of the EU, especially given that the holiday that celebrates our own independence is less than a week away? I don't pretend to know what will be better for the UK in the long run - whether in the EU or not, but it is surely a sign that if you ignore the main populace for too long in pursuit of your singular vision they will react accordingly and do drastic things. The same thing is happening here in the US. The Democrat Party would have been wise to attempt to swap out Hilary for another candidate, because I think she is just unpopular enough with people on both sides to actually lose to Trump. KD in CA Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 What's changed in the past week? (Here's a hint: not a damned thing.) Smart investors made a killing this week off the overreactions of stupid people. Oh wait, that's not a change.

drinkTHEkoolaid Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 When I read crap like that, I genuinely wonder what took everyone so long to jump ship. Only nutbag far left progressives would be stupid enough to even to think regulation is needed to address the curvature of phucking banana. Haha.. I feel dumber after having read that Wikipedia page.

Only nutbag far left progressives would be stupid enough to even to think regulation is needed to address the curvature of phucking banana. The main provisions of the regulation were that bananas sold as unripened, green bananas should be green and unripened No ****, really? Tautological law is tautological.

DC Tom Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 getting replacement ankles a wise move Actually, I'm having a splenectomy...
Azalin Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Actually, I'm having a splenectomy... That should be fairly routine. I understand it's quite similar to shoulder surgery.
Joe Miner Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 That should be fairly routine. I understand it's quite similar to shoulder surgery. High likelihood of death with should surgeries.

Kerry is a charter member of the Asshat HOF, but he's right. There are a lot of fine points to hammer out on this 'exit', there is no template to follow, and despite the posturing of the idiots in Brussels, no decisions are "irreversible". So I could see it ending up as a very gradual move to a hybrid/partial exit. Tthis is the same John Kerry who this week said the Turkey airport bombing shows that ISIS is afraid and desperate. He was in Vietnam you know.
