In what world would it be possible for Trump to come out with a tray of food & drink for the press or anyone for that matter?

For all the talk of him standing up for  the little guy, Trump doesn’t like getting his hands dirty or doing manual work.

What a strange criticism. That 74 year old man who is leader of the free world doesn’t spend his time doing manual labor?

I just thought it a strange comment, especially when it was made because Boris brought out tea. Hardly picking up a shovel. My grandpa would perish at the notion that me making coffee in the morning means I’m starting the day getting my hands dirty.

Carrying out a tray of food and hobnobbing with the common folk is nothing at all like Trump.  When was the last time you’ve seen him do any type of manual work, even for a photo op.  The mere thought of him carrying a tray is beyond laughable.

The man is comfortable on stage.  He’s woefully awkward when he has to personally interact with another living being.

Fair enough.

I actually don’t think there’s a single photo of the President doing any kind of fake ground breaking stuff. No pictures with the hard hat on at a work site.

That’s pretty unique in the modern era of Presidencies I think.

Which is ironic since he raised his kids to not be beneath getting their hands dirty (unless that was all Ivana?)

This is the closest I've seen -- for Oprah's show.

    "carnivalesque"

i understand what you were looking at, the act. what i was perceiving was the punking, not giving them what they wanted while pretending to be above it all. to each their own, we all see things differently, it's all good.

Gotta disagree. Reports are that he is actually very gracious and a pleasure being around during more private meetings.

Also, he is one of the few if not the only presidents who has in fact in their past broken ground in reality for any kind of building project. Developers, mayors and (sometimes governors) along with local development people get their pictures taken with a shovel for political reasons. Without putting Trump in some kind of exalted position I liken his approach to management to that of Major Richard Winters, portrayed in Band of Brothers. In the last episode he was interviewed by if I remember right, a general. The subject came around to Winters actually killing the enemy and Winters admitted that from D-Day to the German surrender he had never fired his rifle. The general was incredulous but at the same time very complimentary of Winter's discipline and leadership skills.

I met him during a Campaign stop in Windham NH.  I was a friend of one of his drivers and he got me a back stage pass.  Got my picture taken with him.  He was very nice and took the time to take pictures with all of us despite being almost 1 hour late.

Democrats might want to take a look at the UK for insight on how voters react when one party is perceived to be overturning an election result

Oh, the lefties in the UK just didn't do it right with their halfassed socialist policies, outright racism, and voter-blaming. That's why people need to vote Democrat here!
