Bell dislocated his left ankle May 24 on the Titans' first day of organized team activities. Bell started 16 games last season, including seven at left guard, eight at right tackle and one at left tackle.

Bell made 56 starts over four years in Carolina.

Seems a bit excess for a player who started 16 games and was injured more than 3 months before first game.

The NFL changed the Designated To Return rules for this season. Teams no longer need to make the designation at the time they place the player on IR. They still can only bring back only one player, but now they can wait until they are ready to bring someone back before stating who it will be. So Bell could still play this season.

Methinks you know not of what you speak. This is a horrible injury, especially for a lineman. This is not a sprain.

I have dislocated my ankle before but never with any broken bones and was walking with brace in 6 weeks and generally mobile in 8 but had no idea it could take that long to recover but I never had the amount of weight on it linemen have.
