Jerry Jabber Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Rob Ryan claims Sean Peyton stripped away his power and forced him to run a different style of defense once Jairus Byrd was signed: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000666414/article/hicks-backs-rob-ryans-claim-saints-took-dcs-power
DC Tom Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned before now!
Jerry Jabber Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Why? Why? Why?!!! "Former Saints defensive lineman Akiem Hicks backed the coordinator over the head coach in this superfluous spat." Maybe with other former players agreeing with what Ryan is saying, it provides some validity as to why the Saints defense sucked so bad and it wasn't Ryan's fault. Almost everyone on here bashed the hiring of Rob Ryan.
Luxy312 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 With all the talk, I don't know as though it matters. In his 12 years in the NFL as a DC, Rob Ryan has produced just 2 seasons that are worth mentioning as being good defensively. The remaining 10 are not so much underwhelming, but bottom half of the NFL bad, sometimes bottom quarter. Rex has had some success though with defenses, and that's mainly in years where he's had a good rushing attack on the offensive side of the ball. I'm interested in seeing what they can do this year, no doubt.
K-9 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Because!! Because!! Because!! Of all the wonderful things he does?
