BuffaloBill Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Geez, it's nice to know that not a single coach reached out to the kid who had two relatively major offseason surgeries...Not cool IMO This was my thought exactly. The kid is a human being, treat him like one.
vincec Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Agent says the medical staff did not diagnose the medical condition. Also surprised that no one from the coaching staff reached out to him, particularly since it sounds like he went through a really rough time. Only now hearing from the agent, but none of this reflects well on the Bills coaching or medical staff.Definitely not well handled by the team at all. Can somebody give me a good news story about the Bils medical staff? I could sure use one right now.

4merper4mer Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Crohn's can be difficult to diagnose correctly from everything I understand. That is true so it is difficult to be too critical of the medical staff I suppose. There is simply no excuse whatsoever for the coaching staff though. It is ridiculously sloppy, disorganized and uncaring. All the arrows point in the wrong direction about these guys.
3rdand12 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I am surprised they did not know of such surgery though. Is there no follow up communication with players under contract post season? NONE ? He finished the season quite ill it seemed to me

26CornerBlitz Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Disappointing and puzzling that the coaching staff didn't reach out to him.
3rdand12 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) The medical staff knew what was going on. But none of the coaching staff did ? That was the last statement from them Edited May 31, 2016 by 3rdand12
jahnyc Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) It is true that Crohn's can be difficult to diagnose, and at least the medical staff seems to have been in contact with Henderson and/or his doctors. Still does not explain the lack of contact from the coaching staff. Really seems like an awful thing he went through. I am impressed that he will be back so soon and wants to compete. Says a lot about the young man. I hope he will be able to play this year, but I wonder if he will need more time to fully recover from the surgeries. Edited May 31, 2016 by jahnyc
NoSaint Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 The medical staff knew what was going on. I'm curious to what extent. This has turned into another story that just seems clunky and like something isn't functioning quite right but I'm not expecting any real clarity- we would never really know truth vs CYA

If I had to describe him in a word that would be it. Everyone says he's brilliant and people like him but he will always be sloppy. Unfortunately he won't be brilliant everyday.

NoSaint Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I would have to think the medical staff recommended that he see a GI specialist and were involved in his care throughout since he's an active Buffalo Bill. One would think. So does that leave medical not talking to front office, or some front office going rogue to spark this off?
Rocky Landing Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Disappointing and puzzling that the coaching staff didn't reach out to him. At this point, and with so much "information" coming out, I have to believe that Rex, et al, are merely keeping their cards close to their chest. As I Mentioned in another post, when was the last time anyone took an injury report from the Pats* seriously? This is de rigueur in the league. Were they to be spilling information pell mell, then we should be concerned. That being said, considering the potential severity of the disease, and what e know so far, it's hard to imagine that we are going to see Seantrel starting this season, or the next.
Beerball Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 If Beerball can recover from vaginitis, Seantral can recover from Crohn's disease. Absolutely. He recovered? Physically.

When Whaley was interviewed on WGR last week he referred to Henderson being in the RT competition. Based upon that it seems as if he knew what was going on. I think it's highly possible that Rex knew too, but didn't want to discuss his medical condition. Nevertheless, the coaches are at fault for not reaching out to him. Magox Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 He'll only be AWOL if he misses mandatory minicamp in a couple of weeks. Semantics
Buffalo Barbarian Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I've never been more convinced of an FO plant until this very moment. ?
