26CornerBlitz Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 @slmandel Official release from Baylor: http://www.baylor.edu/mediacommunications/news.php?action=story&story=170207 @McMurphyESPN Baylor admits to "directly discouraging some complainants from reporting (incidents) & retaliated against one for reporting sexual assault"
26CornerBlitz Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Ken Starr. @AP Baylor to fire football coach Art Briles, re-assign university president about handling of sexual assault cases. https://t.co/z8lq6D669Y
Blokestradamus Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 It's absolutely abhorrent and it goes way further than just Briles. Clean out the entire athletic department and let them start over. Nuking the program is pointless. I'm not sure what to make of Briles as a man. As far as I can find, he has 2 daughters and a granddaughter. Explaining all of this to them should be the worst part of this entire process.
YoloinOhio Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 @mwatkinstrib BREAKING: Baylor Athletic Director Ian McCaw has been "sanctioned and placed on probation." How does he keep his job?
chris heff Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 How long does it take to terminate someone? Depends on how you do it.
Kelly the Dog Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 How long does it take to terminate someone? Two thousand now. Two thousand when the job is done. Then you will know.
YoloinOhio Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 Hmmm he may never coach again http://www.baylor.edu/mediacommunications/news.php?action=story&story=170207 Depending on what comes out over the next few weeks, Briles may be toxic for awhile. After reading the report, Goodell may not let any NFL teams hire him
CommonCents Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Two thousand now. Two thousand when the job is done. Then you will know. It will be a lot more than two thousand, I am sure he is still going to get cut a check.

He's still owed tens of millions if he was fired w/out cause.
Mr. WEO Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 @ClayTravis Big legal battle likely coming with Briles & Baylor over his for cause firing. He's still owed tens of millions if he was fired w/out cause. Without cause? Anyway, no NFL team will hire this guy.
Kirby Jackson Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 @ClayTravis Big legal battle likely coming with Briles & Baylor over his for cause firing. He's still owed tens of millions if he was fired w/out cause. That feels like a settlement and an NFL job. He will get some BS title like "Sr. Offensive Consultant" this year and then interview as a HC everywhere in January.

You don't think he'll be too toxic for a while? @thEMANacho Why #Baylor did the right thing by firing #ArtBriles
Kirby Jackson Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 You don't think he'll be too toxic for a while? @thEMANacho Why #Baylor did the right thing by firing #ArtBriles He is definitely toxic but teams are so desperate to win. Someone signed Greg Hardy last year. Maybe it takes another year but if his offense lights it up the fans will justify it in their heads. The NFL has a lot of suspect people. This Baylor situation is a disgusting mess. He will be apologetic and try to distance himself from it as much as he can. Time will certainly calm things down some.
YoloinOhio Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 how big of a screw up did Josh Gordon have to be to get kicked out of that program?
Southern Bills Fan Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 It seems to be the case when these programs come out of nowhere and become national powers. I wouldn't be surprised if my Ole Miss Rebels aren't next.

I have a feeling the description includes the words "dirt" and "bag." @ClayTravis Big legal battle likely coming with Briles & Baylor over his for cause firing. He's still owed tens of millions if he was fired w/out cause. LOL. He needs Tom Brady's legal team if he's going to claim he is being fired without cause.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Baylor is tone deaf. @Mark_Schlabach Baylor officials say Ken Starr's role as chancellor will be external fundraising and religious liberty. Took away all operational duties @judybattista Judy Battista Retweeted Mark Schlabach Baylor officials wants him representing them -- still -- as a fundraiser? Have they lost their minds? @JessicaMorrey Per source, here is the group text that Art Briles sent his players today #Baylor
