D521646 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Ok, so he will make roughly 3.35 million this year, added he made a couple Mil last year, 8 - 6, 3000 yards, 20 TD's and 6 INT's. so extend him for 5 years at 100 million and that nets you 7 years for $15M.. A relative bargain for a starting QB in this league.. What is DW waiting for, lock him up now. Tim-
Nanker Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Why hasn't anybody talked about giving TT a new contract? I'm baffled.
Maury Ballstein Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 He's waiting for him to not poop the bed vs the Alex smiths/cousins/Bradfords of the world.
PromoTheRobot Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) He's waiting for him to not poop the bed vs the Alex smiths/cousins/Bradfords of the world. As we all know QBs only play against other QBs. Kind of like one-on-one basketball. Edited May 19, 2016 by PromoTheRobot

TT has things ot work on to prove he worth that kind of investment. This has been discussed many times over already. Fitz got a big contract after one decent season.. Doubt you want to make that mistake again..
White Linen Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 The Bills are doing what they should be doing. They gave Tyrod a contract that if he played a certain amount the 3rd year was void to give him an opportunity at a big pay day. He lived up to his end in the first year and the Bills contract gave him that chance. We're in year two and he needs to perform and the Bills need to see it.
D521646 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 I get it, I'm just saying that if they offer him at the end of this year 100 million for 5 years, it might not be enough, but if they offer it to him now, it's a deal for us.. Yes risky, but Tyrod showed he can progress, and every analyst out there seems to think he has more room to grow and very capable of doing it, barring some injury. If it's injuries they're worried about, then cut him now, as this will always be a concern if he's your starting QB, period. Tim-
Malazan Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I'd rather overpay him later for having a good year than overpay him now to possibly **** the bed.
metzelaars_lives Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I'd rather overpay him later for having a good year than overpay him now to possibly **** the bed. Exactly. If he performs this year, he'll be a Buffalo Bill for a long time and a very, very wealthy man. Everyone will be happy.
White Linen Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I'd rather overpay him later for having a good year than overpay him now to possibly **** the bed. Perfectly said

Because he isn't worth giving a huge contract based off one mediocre year. If he carries this team during the season when they need it, then he deserves a big contract. The top tier QB's can carry a team.
