Huh

@sammywatkins

If they dont have stories these days they will make one

That is curious. Going by this thread and posts I see on facebook, maybe he means the constant incorrect statements of Sammy out 5-6 months with lingering foot issues.

based on this tweet and his ones from yesterday, it sounds like it is much more minor injury than the media is trying to portray.

I linked an article about a cornerback having a screw inserted after the season to help heal a stress fracture. He sat out OTA's and MC and returned for training camp. That sounds like what we are hearing from the team but the media is making it out to sound more like a Jones fracture which would have a much cloudier outlook. Maybe that explains Sammy's tweets? Not sure.

So the Bills and Sammy are downplaying it, and the media is full on doomglooming it.

Truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Local media (Wawrow) reported he will be ready for TC. It's the national media (schefter) with the other timeline, not sure who he talked to. Even Ty Dunne is only speculating that it could be a Jones fracture, at least what I've seen. He didn't say it was for sure, seems like he is just trying to get some kind of info out there. That may be ticking Sammy off, especially since he already has kind of a history with Ty Dunne (he took issue with how he portrayed him in the "give me the damn ball" article). Edited by YoloinOhio

Didn't know about the Sammy/Dunne situation...that's good info. I hope Dunne doesn't fall into the TBN pit of despair, however. We need more than just Wawrow to present an even-handed perspective.

Amazed that you all believe what the team is feeding to the news media. They are a mini government. They tell you what they want you to know which isn't much.

i honestly don't think Dunne did anything wrong. His article was balanced, but the problem was that various media outlets ran with just the "juicy" parts that painted Sammy in a bad light. That includes Rodak. I think Sammy kind of blamed Dunne initially and maybe realized later that he didn't leave out the parts about how he just wanted to win, etc and it wasn't about his numbers. It was PFT, Rodak, etc versions of the stories that did. But, he seems to not "trust" Dunne. Edited by YoloinOhio

Rodak has been in heaven the past two days. It's really sad to watch.

How many of which have done squat in this league outside of Sammy? And he's 35.

Facts do not prevent a poster from writing a rant; never stopped you.

11 players who will make their first Pro Bowl in 2016

By Cameron DaSilva

Each year, there are players that are snubbed from the Pro Bowl. The reason for that is because there are just so many talented guys in the NFL and only a select few are chosen to play in the NFL's All-Star game. With that said, a boatload of really good players have missed out on the Pro Bowl in the past after being on the cusp of making it.

Entering 2016, there's a long list of guys on both the offensive and defensive side that are poised to make their first Pro Bowl. Here are 11 players who will do just that with breakout campaigns this year.

Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills
It's somewhat surprising that Watkins has never made a Pro Bowl. The former No. 4 overall pick hasn't been completely dominant in the NFL, but in two seasons, he's recorded more than 2,000 yards receiving and has 15 career touchdowns. Injuries likely prevented Watkins from making it last season, but if he can stay healthy, he'll be there this season. In just 13 games, he had 1,047 yards and nine touchdowns. He and Tyrod Taylor will build on their growing chemistry with another year together in Buffalo.

@john_wawrow

As @TyDunne reported, Sammy Watkins had what's been referred to as "a small stress fracture." Expected to be 100 percent for start of camp.

Very likely true, but since this information comes from the same people that determined that a certain draft picks shoulder was not a problem ...

I mentioned this and did some research about other notable Jones injuries that have occured to other high profile athletes. This injury is far more concerning than a shoulder procedure on a rookie. Sammy is the passing game. From the time table they gave us in which he had the screw put in it sounds like it was done before the draft. Makes me wonder why we didn't take a WR earlier who could have some impact.

Haven't you been paying attention?? We needed a first round pick who could help Rex's defense from day one.

Yes because the value was certainly there right? Your sure about that right?

Yes. Or they could have selected a healthy defensive player, like Darron Lee, who has a ton of upside. I can't prove it, but I don't believe any other team in the league would have selected Lawson at 19, knowing there was a good chance he would need surgery before the season started. Another example of the Bills outsmarting the rest of the NFL. Edited by mannc
