I thought Dallas was referred to as "America's Team" right now? I'm confused.

I'm confused. Looks like each conference should have their own "America's Team" Smart move by the marketing genius goodell!
hondo in seattle Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I missed this important piece of news. I guess I have to give up eating bison meat.
Marty McFly Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Ive always though the Cowboys branded themselves as "Americas Team", I didnt think anyone else gave them that moniker.

Saxum Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Cowboys are Mexico's team. Now we need to give Texas back to Mexico like Europeans gave back their colonies.

Saxum Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Hey I believe the best way for internationalization of NFL is cutting part of states and giving to other countries - the Mexico Vaqueros and the Cuba Porpoises sound like good ways to do this! The Houston Texans will need to be renamed however unless the new Mexico state remains named Texas.

Too bad my mexican brothers dont have the height to make it past the NCAA
Buffalo Barbarian Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 That's reason enough to build a wall maybe we should take Mexico and we wont have to build one.
machine gun kelly Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 I missed this important piece of news. I guess I have to give up eating bison meat. Ooh, I love a Bison Burger. Good stuff.
CSBill Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 maybe we should take Mexico and we wont have to build one. Now that is a fresh idea, get Hillary and/or Donald on the phone!
Best Player Available Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Ooh, I love a Bison Burger. Good stuff. They are great. But nothing beats an Elk burger. Or better yet an Elk steak.
HT02 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 You guys are way off point here... the real question is how does the Mountain Lion/Cougar get overlooked as the national mammal? Bison are great and all but the point is bison are food, mountain lions are clearly the mamamal symbol of the United States. My ranking of american mammals: Mountain Lion Grizzly Bear Polar Bear Grey Wolf Bison Let the debate begin...
RevWarRifleman Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Ive always though the Cowboys branded themselves as "Americas Team", I didnt think anyone else gave them that moniker. I wouldn't doubt that the phrase came from the Dallas media way back when.
May Day 10 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 I wouldn't doubt that the phrase came from the Dallas media way back when. Actually.... it comes from the fact that Dallas was broadcast Nationally way more than any other team for a long period of time. Because of that (as well as some on field success), they fostered more of a National following/head-start than anyone else. John Facenda coined the phrase on an NFL Films thing in the late 70's.
QuoteTheRaven83 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Nothing better than taking an animal that was once represented with Native Americans and making that the official symbol of the land we took from them. That's the ultimate slap in the face IMO. Can't just be the eagle and leave it at that?
