H2o Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25578165/redskins-give-te-jordan-reed-5-year-extension-worth-reported-50-million?linkId=24181691 Imo, this makes Clay's deal not look bad for us at all.
cantankerous Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Except that Jordan Reed is a lot better, yeah. Reed is tough to stop in the red zone.
What a Tuel Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Except that Jordan Reed is a lot better, yeah. Reed is tough to stop in the red zone. If he was on our team "injury prone" and "concussions" would be thrown around a lot.
YoloinOhio Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 He is coming off a great season. I had him in fantasy two years ago and he was always hurt and couldn't stay on the field. So I hate him forever.
John from Riverside Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Except that Jordan Reed is a lot better, yeah. Reed is tough to stop in the red zone. Jordan Reed is NOT better then Clay
YoloinOhio Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 If he was on our team "injury prone" and "concussions" would be thrown around a lot. hell yes. It was like something different every week.
DasNootz Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 When Jordan Reed is healthy he's a top 3 TE in the league. Gronk is the only clearly better TE (at least from playmaking ability).
Andrew Son Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 When Jordan Reed is healthy he's a top 3 Fantasy TE in the league. Gronk is the only clearly better TE (at least from playmaking ability). Fixed
GunnerBill Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Jordan Reed is NOT better then Clay He is a better receiver. He is not an all round tight end like Clay. He might be a top 3 receiving tight end when healthy.
DasNootz Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Which TE's do you think are better playmakers in a non-fantasy world?
John from Riverside Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Which TE's do you think are better playmakers in a non-fantasy world? First give your definition of what is expected from the Tight End position This should be good
GunnerBill Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) Which TE's do you think are better playmakers in a non-fantasy world? I think if you are just talking about receiving it is Gronk #1, Jimmy Graham #2, and I think Jordan Reed is right there with Julius Thomas competing for #3. If I am talking all round tight ends, then Greg Olsen is higher, Jason Witten is higher and Clay is higher (just off the top of my head). EDIT: Eifert is up there in both categories for me too. His blocking has really come on a bunch and he was dynamic in the pass game last year. I'd have him over Reed and Thomas. Edited May 5, 2016 by GunnerBill
John from Riverside Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 From the TE position I look for a player that does not tip off the defense on whether its gonna be a run or pass.......meaning you cannot catch great but block like a little girl. That is why Clay is so perfect for us.....and why he was a top 100 player just a year ago
DasNootz Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) I look for a TE that creates mismatches. They're too fast to be covered by DEs and LBs, and too big to be handled by lone CB's. They exist to create space for the offense - whether it's blocking to seal the corner, drawing a double to let someone else get free, etc. When you watch Washington, the offense runs through Reed, similar to Olsen in Carolina. I'll slide off of Top 3 and put him top 5 with Olsen and Julius Thomas ahead of him. I'd take Reed (when healthy) over Clay, Kelsay, Witten (at this point), Graham (at this point), Gates (at this point). Edited May 5, 2016 by DasNootz

DasNootz Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 So...Clay? Reed is younger, faster, gets more yards after reception, sees more red zone activity, catches more contested balls, has a better catch rate, more yards/target.... is just more productive.
GunnerBill Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Reed is younger, faster, gets more yards after reception, sees more red zone activity, catches more contested balls, has a better catch rate, more yards/target.... is just more productive. ...in the receiving game. Without question.
