The Poojer Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 my personal recommendations(anyone can pick Yes, Boz Scaggs etc) are in red. I highlighted Claypool Lennon simply for Claypool, I heard the song they put out and I just don't like it, time for Sean Lennon to stop trying to be significant. Charles Bradley will knock you freaking socks off as will Ray LaMontagne, especially with MMJ(les Yim Yames) backing him. Noel Gallagher because he's awesome and there's always the chance he will act like an ass. Slightly Stoopid is a group that I have wanted to see but have yet to get out to see. Ben Harper is fabulous live(just saw him a month ago). That is an absolute killer lineup of summer music Here's the free lineup at Canalside, a couple weekend shows at Canalside are yet to be announced... http://buffalo.com/2016/05/03/featured/canalside-announces-thursday-concert-series/ June 9: Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires June 16: Frank Turner with July Talk June 23: Public EnemyJune 30: Frankie Ballard July 7: Dweezil Zappa plays Frank Zappa July 14: Shakey Graves and Preservation Hall Jazz Big Band and Wild Child July 21: The Arcs and Mariachi Flor de Toloache July 29: BPO "A tribute to David Bowie" Aug. 4: Tritonal Aug. 11: Lowest of the Low and Serena Ryder Aug. 18: Coolio Aug. 25: Claypool Lennon Delirium Tuesday at Artpark June 14: Barenaked Ladies June 21: Blue Rodeo June 28: Whitesnake July 5: The Band Perry July 12: Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals July 19: Tears for Fears July 26: Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo / Melissa Etheridge August 2: YES August 9: RAIN - a tribute to the beatles August 16: STYX August 23: Boz Scaggs with special guest Don Mclean August 30: The Burton Cummings Band, April Wine & Buffy Sainte-Marie Wednesday at Artpark June 15: Two Door Cinema Club June 29: Ray LaMontagne July 6: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds July 13: Ben Folds with yMusic July 15: O.A.R. with special guest John Butler Trio July 27: Slightly Stoopid Aug 3: O.A.R. eball Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I saw the Beatles tribute band (RAIN) here in Durham and they were outstanding; I'd recommend that one.
The Poojer Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 what do you personally think of the Claypool/Lennon thing....I really think Lennon completely takes away from the 'genius' that is Les Claypool. Prickly Pete Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) It peaks week one (Charles Bradley), after that it's a snooze-fest of has-beens (at best). Edited May 7, 2016 by HoF Watkins

I haven't heard enough of their stuff to make an informed opinion. Claypool seems really enamoured with him in that article I posted. I think Sean is still trying to find the right niche for his music.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Shakey Graves is awesome. If you do not know him you should check him out.
