NickelCity Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I'm hearing we've signed a virtual reality training firm for QB reps. Spherical video of the defense allows QBs to read and react to actual defenses, it's actually pretty cool in my own experience - but I'm no QB.

Bills Juggernaut Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Maybe they can load a virtual reality program somewhere in there where the Bills actually make the playoffs then pass it around to the fans so that we can have at least a taste of it in the near future.....
machine gun kelly Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Kevin Hogan was propping up this type of program that helped him with mental reps. If it works, great.
Nanker Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I thought "Virtual Reality" was what we suffered through last year.
YoloinOhio Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Didn't Carson Palmer use this last year? I thought I remembered a MMQB piece on it. It was really cool. Edited May 4, 2016 by YoloinOhio
Buffalo_Stampede Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 This the future of the NFL, meaning in 50 years the game will be played in virtual reality.
YoloinOhio Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Good article on Carson Palmer's success using virtual reality Cardinals' use of virtual reality technology yields record season http://espn.go.com/blog/arizona-cardinals/post/_/id/18836/cardinals-use-of-virtual-reality-technology-yields-record-season Not surprisingly, Clemson connection -- Clemsons football team was one of the first to use the virtual reality system Belch created which combines real film with wearable technology for football players to get 360-degree views of the field. It takes video filmed by six GoPro cameras attached together at the top of a tripod, which is usually stationed in the middle of the defense near where the inside linebackers would stand or behind and just to the side of the quarterback, giving players a 360-degree view inside the headset And here is the (really good) MMQB piece on it from last season ICYMI http://mmqb.si.com/2015/11/18/nfl-carson-palmer-arizona-cardinals-inside-game-plan-part-ii-cleveland-browns Edited May 4, 2016 by YoloinOhio

GaryPinC Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Wow, when you take a moment to think about all the mental details and quick decisions an NFL quarterback has to account for, a virtual reality video game sounds like a great training tool.

Maddog69 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 definitely can't hurt. But I would bet that Kevin Kolb could still get injured doing a VR simulation.

It's nice to know the Bills are slowly catching up to the rest of the world.

Its all fun and games until Tyrod can longer differentiate between the VR dream sequence and real life and goes on a murderous rampage. Look what happened with Doug Quaid. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
