You have them in the right order but I'm not taking Adams at 10. I'm an LSU guy I would like him here but I don't see him being worth that draft slot. Hope the Bills stop drafting for need, that is my biggest problem with Whaley.

Swing for the fences, find Mahomes on the board early and go to the podium.

Man, I could not disagree more. If Adams is on the board at 10 I'm doing cartwheels to the podium. The guy just balls out. A guy, like Landon Collins, that will almost instantly make the defense better.

I like Reuben Foster a lot too.

I'm not disagreeing on the swinging deal...Mahomes cracked the 65% completions marker and anytime I see that I perk up a little...I need to watch a lot more of him...

On a side note I had his dad for years in my Stratomatic baseball league...

No way Corey Davis make it to the second rd. After today's game, he's going to move past Mike Williams and possibly be the first receiver taken in the draft. I'd take Corey Davis at 10 over Mike Williams because of the Joe D. philosophy, draft cold weather players. Safety have to be my second pick and there are many good ones to choose from (Budda Baker, Eddie Jackson, Malik Hooker). Lastly, if I'm Buffalo, I'm NOT letting another Buffalo product slip away from me. I'm take Chad Kelly in the 3rd. He's probably the best QB in this year's draft. He's a playmaker, "Kelly Tough", and being home near family should help hone his decision making. Bring in Frank Reich as HC and the drought is over

When you say another Buffalo product slipping away, who are you speaking of? If you mean Khalil Mack he's from Florida.

As for Chad Kelly, you are just throwing a pick away on him. Set aside the character issues for a minute, he lost games for Ole Miss. The Rebels were a ranked team when the season began and sank to oblivion as Kelly made one bad throw after another. I don't care if he's a Kelly. He's Manziel 2.0.

I was referring to Gronk. Chad reminds me of Favre. Straight gunslinger

Kind of tough to win a game when the defense is giving up 180, 280 and 230 yards to opposing running backs. Ole Miss had a horrible defense this year. To blame Kelly for their problems is a big stretch. Jim Kelly forced many passes in his career. He still did OK. I think having Uncle Jim to mentor him would make Buffalo an ideal place for Chad Kelly, especially if you can use a late round pick to get him.

Are these your top 10 players or the top 10 in order that you think that they will be drafted? My top 10 players:

  • Garrett
  • Jonathan Allen
  • Hooker
  • Adams
  • Cook
  • Fournette
  • Mike Williams
  • Corey Davis
  • Barnett
  • Foster
There are some corners that I like too and will be in the top 10. These are my top 10 players at the moment and subject to change.

Those are my top 10 players as of now (subject to change as well). I'm repeating myself, but this is by far the best safety class I can recall in the 20 years I've followed the draft, and the corners look like they'll run into the 3rd round with quality depth, there are a lot. I'm not seeing any top ten yet, but I'm just getting into them and there is a lot from what I've seen so far.

Love your top 4 ;)

What's your thoughts on Barnett? I see good coordination and technique, he seems to get low coming around the edge (the power reminds me of Mack doing so, not as explosive though), plays with good strength and strong hands. Not sure he'll be as effective as a pass rusher in the NFL, kind of reminds me of Robert Ayers.

I just think that Barnett plays hard. That may seem like something that should be expected but he will make some plays because of it. He was in a good situation in Tennessee but he made a lot of plays. Some guys are just good football players. He uses his hands well and gets upfield. He's not perfect but he feels like a high floor guy to me.

I'm even more on the Ayers comp now sounds like my faulty memory of my thoughts him, Its a deep DE class too, not sure they take one early, but I could see one later in the draft. Barnett seems to play the run and set the edge well...

What do we think of Curtis Samuel ?

He can play reciever ?

He would be a WR. Similar to a Percy Harvin hybrid, like McCaffrey. Hasn't declared yet. Reports are he is leaning toward staying at this point, but I would be surprised if he did. Edited by YoloinOhio

I'll tell y'all something...

If Malik Hooker gets scooped up before Buffalo picks in round 1, I'd pass on Jamal Adams and grab Budda Baker in round 2.

Love the way this kid plays the safety position: a box-style safety that can blitz, but also played slot corner regularly.

He's one of my guys (along with Kansas State's Dante Barnett).

Is this your Myles Jack of the 2017 draft?

That honor has to go to either Garrett or Allen--not sure which yet.

Baker is, rather, a guy that I think will go 10-12 picks later than he should, which is just fine with me.

Which is why we should select Reuben Foster #1 . I love Baker as well. Would be great value in rd 2. Adding Foster, Baker and Ragland along with a 4-3 DC and the D is back IMO.

@MikeMayock

Malik Hooker is boundary saf- watch him trust eyes to frontside route...his instincts, hands and movement skills led to 7 picks-

@MikeMayock

Love this unselfish hooker play- Lattimore makes INT- watch 24 force WR over top- then hustle to bury big OL...that's winning football !

Here's my (very) early top 10:

1. Jonathan Allen - DL/Alabama

2. Tim Williams - EDGE/Alabama

3. Myles Garrett - EDGE/Texas A&M

4. Malik Hooker - S/Ohio State

5. Dalvin Cook - RB/Florida State

6. Corey Davis - WR/W. Michigan

7. Marlon Humphrey - CB/Alabama

8. Derek Barnett - EDGE/Tennessee

9. Desmond King - CB/Iowa

10. Marshon Lattimore - CB/Ohio State

Yeah--lots of EDGE guys and cover guys up top this year. Keep in mind that I haven't done a ton of work on QBs, pass catchers, or LBs just yet, so this is very fluid.

Your ranking gives validation to my point that the Bills CAN NOT pass on Corey Davis if he's there at 10. The safety position is deep and you can grab a Budda Baker in the second or a Eddie Jackson in rd 3-4. This team is in need of both safety positions, but another stud receiver is a must.

I agree that Davis should be the pick if he's there.

I'd be elated with Baker in round 2 if you can get him there, but I'd also be happy with my boy Dante Barnett in round 3.

The first College Column Mock Draft includes three quarterbacks, but only one off the board in the first five picks: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/01/04/2017-nfl-draft-first-round-myles-garrett-cleveland-browns-mitch-trubisky-san-francisco-49ers

No. 10 Buffalo Bills: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
It’s been an ugly week in Western New York, and when the dust settles—with a new head coach—I think Buffalo is ready to make the leap. There’s talent on the Bills’ roster, the only thing they haven’t been able to figure out is quarterback. It looks like Tyrod Taylor’s time in Buffalo may be done. Doug Whaley whiffed on EJ Manuel, and will try to right that wrong by selecting Watson here.
