Odds are that Whaley will take the higher graded safety over the qb in this draft. It's a conservative mind-set that has kept this franchise mired in the mud. I get the sense that DW is very much intrigued with Cardale even though he is still a major project who is going to take at least a couple more years to smooth the rough edges.

Whaley made a bold move in acquiring Watkins, a receiver. He should repeat that aggressive approach in finding a long term solution at qb.

Amen... B-)

I'll tell y'all something...

If Malik Hooker gets scooped up before Buffalo picks in round 1, I'd pass on Jamal Adams and grab Budda Baker in round 2.

Love the way this kid plays the safety position: a box-style safety that can blitz, but also played slot corner regularly.

He's one of my guys (along with Kansas State's Dante Barnett).

This draft is very deep in the secondary, I wouldnt pass up J. Adams at 10 as IMO B. Baker will gone at the end of the 1st or early 2nd coverage skills are impressive, love me some Buddah!! Having said that, Hooker and Adams are good enough to both be gone before the 10th pick... Regardless, he would be a great pick up in the 2nd

Gareon Conley declared! Very polished CB, 1st rd prospect

Love Conley as well, from what Ive seen watching Hooker and the OSU secondary, Conley has been covering the opposing #1 mostly from my observations, M. Lattimore; Higher ceiling vs. Conley: more polished and technically sound, what say ye?

Personally I like Lattimore more than Conley and Hooker above both. I like Budda Baker as well. He changes that UW defense.

Any relation to the Memphis Grizzlies PG, Greg Oden's former running mate?

Agree on Conley, very smart kid, already graduated, more experienced. Immediate NFL starter IMO. Has played on an island successfully which makes him attractive across defensive systems. Lattimore is the Super freak. Struggled a bit last year but really jumped off the page this year. Has had some injury history. But his feet, hips, etc - just immensely physically gifted corner. Also, have been impressed with his maturity this year.

Fair enough, what separates Lattimore and Conley for you? I just started looking into the two of them, lots to like for both.

Agreed on Budda B., game changer, I think he'll climb boards as his testing information and tape evals start to come out, I have a 1st round grade on him.

Agree on Conley, 100%, seems dependable on a play by play basis. Lattimore I need to focus on more, good to hear he has matured, the athleticism is evident from what I have seen. I appreciate the response!

Wondering what people's top ten looks like at this time.

Mine:

1 - M. Garrett (DE - Texas A & M)

2 - J. Allen (DE/DT - Alabama)

3 - M. Hooker (FS - OSU)

4 - J. Adams (SS/FS - LSU)

5 - R. Foster (LB - Alabama)

IMO these first 5 are elite level players.

6 - L. Fournette (RB - LSU)

7 - C. Davis (WR - W. Michigan)

8 - D. Cook (RB - FSU)

9 - C. Robinson (RT/LT - Alabama)

10 - Mike Williams (WR - Clemson)

Jabrill Peppers S, Michigan
There seems to be a lot of angst over Peppers right now because a) Adams and Malik Hooker legitimately might be better overall prospects, and b) it’s hard to nail down his position. On the latter subject, his NFL role is at safety—a versatile safety like Tyrann Mathieu or a safety/standout slot corner like Malcolm Jenkins, but a safety. The excitement is in Peppers’s upside. He played out of position this year and was a Heisman finalist.
Burke has the Bills passing on Hooker who goes to Indy at 15.

I really like them both. Conley feels a little more solid but I like Lattimore's upside and playmaking ability. Conley is going to be a solid to good starter for a long time. Lattimore could be elite. He feels like a player that is ascending. I think that both are 1st round talents but if I had to chose one I would take Lattimore (I am a risk taker by nature though).

Are these your top 10 players or the top 10 in order that you think that they will be drafted? My top 10 players:

  1. Garrett
  2. Jonathan Allen
  3. Hooker
  4. Adams
  5. Cook
  6. Fournette
  7. Mike Williams
  8. Corey Davis
  9. Barnett
  10. Foster

There are some corners that I like too and will be in the top 10. These are my top 10 players at the moment and subject to change.

I think this Safety deal is going to be really interesting...I have it Hooker, Adams, then Peppers...But it depends what you're looking for because all three have unique strengths to their games...

I realize the chances that all 3 are great is slim...But watching them individually leads me to believe you really can't go wrong with any of the three...Assuming you utilize them in order to magnify their strengths... B-)

I wanted Ngata at #8 in that draft. Hated the Donte pick. At any rate, I'd like to the Bills take the best guy at 10 this year and I'm hoping for Hooker, Adams, or Williams. Possibly a QB there if they deem one worthy at that spot.

I was jumping for joy when Ngata was on the board. I couldn't believe he fell in our laps. Oh the devastation I felt. We all felt. Lil donte

Apparently Mayock and I are on the same page...

So many good players..2 of my favorite players from tape-they play diff positions but both ALWAYS around ball -budda baker and Reuben foster

Eight teams that need to draft QB
Will the Texans' Brock Osweiler and Jaguars' Blake Bortles have some younger competition in camp next year? Daniel Jeremiah says their teams are among the clubs that need to draft a QB in 2017.

5. Buffalo Bills

First-round draft position: No. 10

Analysis: The Bills' decision to sit Tyrod Taylor in the final week of the season tells us all we need to know about their opinion of their quarterback situation. Taylor has put up respectable numbers since arriving in Buffalo, but his inconsistency was a concern. I'm not convinced Buffalo will find an upgrade in this draft class, and I'm pretty sure EJ Manuel isn't the answer, either. Cardale Jones has tremendous upside, but he's a long way from being ready to start in the NFL.

It's funny sometimes how we all bond...I was literally jumping up and down chanting Ngata! Ngata! Ngata!!! I was SO happy...Then the pick came in and I was crying...Many dogs were kicked that day...

Not really...I love my dogs... ;)

You have them in the right order but I'm not taking Adams at 10. I'm an LSU guy I would like him here but I don't see him being worth that draft slot. Hope the Bills stop drafting for need, that is my biggest problem with Whaley.

Swing for the fences, find Mahomes on the board early and go to the podium.
