This should factor into the Taylor decision, no? It has to be a consideration along with who might be available via UFA or trade. Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 Mock Draft: Colts, Ravens, Patriots pick running backs by Dane Brugler The Browns nab two defenders in the top 10 while the Colts take the best running back in the draft 12. Buffalo BillsMike Williams, WR, Clemson: With Marquise Goodwin and Robert Woods hitting free agency after this season and Sammy Watkins unable to stay healthy, Williams would give the Bills much needed help on the wide receiver depth chart. NFL Draft Big Board: Dalvin Cook vs. Jabrill Peppers among spicy bowl matchups by Rob Rang NFL scouts love nothing more than seeing top prospects going one-on-one Quote
C.Biscuit97 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Really good player. Tight end in the first though? Next to Qb, TE has the position we have neglect the most. If we get a qb who throws over the middle, a good TE would be awesome to have. I think Howard is one of the most physically gifted players in the draft. And that fact Alabama didn't use him a lot could push him down in the draft. I think he could be there in the 2nd. Mock Draft: Colts, Ravens, Patriots pick running backs 12. If you have to spend 2 top 15 picks on WRs, your qb sucks. You are SO right about Howard. He has very fresh legs. Think about it.....Derrick Henry was on the team last year. Every season he is surrounded by excellent players so he gets less reps. Also wrt Howard, I have seen all of his games at Bama. Over the years he got bigger. His frame supports it and now he is an awesome blocker, and not just due to his strength. His technique is to die for. As for your comment about receivers, there might be exceptions. Oakland has a pair of really good receivers, and I think this is a lot of help to Carr. Hey, wr is not #1 on my first round wish list, but I would rather have one than a defensive back. Quote
Buffalo Barbarian Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Edge player Solomon Thomas single handedly ruined the Tar heels offense. Can't wait to see him in our Jim Schwartz D Quote

I love Howard and love that he is a great blocker. You could do some wonder things with him and Clay at TE. It blows my mind how teams don't see what NE does with TEs and just copy it. TEs make both your running and passing games better. And Oakland signed Crabtree as a free agent. They haven't spent high picks on receivers. In fact, they have basically done what the Bills have done (Cooper and Watkins). Receivers are so dependent on the qb. The Bills could have had 3 1st round pick WRs and it won't matter. The Steelers always find WRs later in the draft. Part of that is scouting and part of that is they have a great qb who makes them better. I think Robert Woods is a good receiver wasted on a really bad passing team. A couple later round possible picks for WRs could be the Texas a & m guys (Kirk and Reynolds) and Gabe Marks of WSU. Btw, I'm in shock that I'm against taking a skill player later in the draft and you're for it haha! Quote

I have no issue with Howard and I believe a very good TE can make a huge difference to an offense (duh), but TEs drafted in the first round (much less the first half of the first round) never seem to live up to their draft status. If you look around the league, I think you will find that the most productive TEs were drafted well after the first round, or not drafted at all. I'm not sure why that is, but it seems to be so, despite the increasing importance of the position. Edited December 30, 2016 by mannc Quote
YoloinOhio Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Easy to see why every major school in country, including Ohio State, coveted Solomon Thomas before he picked Stanford. From Copper, TX. Edited December 30, 2016 by YoloinOhio Quote

Kirby Jackson Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 is he coming out? There has been talk about it. Admittedly, I haven't seen a lot of him but he has a good reputation from what I understand. He's projected as early as a 1st rounder though. Quote

I loved Hunter Henry last year & think Howard is another complete package at TE. Easy to see why every major school in country, including Ohio State, coveted Solomon Thomas before he picked Stanford. C.Biscuit97 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Why is that? He's not solely concerned about football but challenging himself academically. Nothing against OSU and other schools but Stanford is a different level. Easiest thing for a blue chip recruit is go to a school where it isn't exactly making you be a student. Quote

A guy I've mentioned before that is projected in the mid to late rounds is Fred Ross out of Miss St. Ton of talent. Quote
