klos63 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 You don't go for depth in the 3rd. There were a lot of players left on the board. I don't get it What starter would we pick here? What starting positions are still open?
Reed83HOF Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 PFF Draft @PFF_College Adolphus Washington had the 9th best pass rushing producivitiy (9.8) for DTs in the NFL Draft
Fixxxer Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Seems like he's an interior pass rusher? Why that rather than a nose tackle type? can TJ Barnes play NT? maybe he showed up in great physical condition at voluntary workouts.
Ohiostyle Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 This was a bit of a letdown. I like Adolphus, but he's situational, and light for the D their running. Felt their was Off playmakers available
Big C Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Not for nothing but think of how bad they were without either Kyle or Marcel last year. Depth doesn't hurt but probably could have gotten him in the fourth if they still had the picks. Sticking to the board. Combination of injuries and lack of depth. Didn't really see Carrington, Wynn and Kyle all going down, but we definitely weren't cutting it with who we had.
DrDawkinstein Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I think Kyle's days are numbered at this point. This makes some sense to me. True, and I need to learn more about him.
Steve Billieve Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I don't know enough to have an opinion. At a certain point you just have to trust your team . . . or not depending on your temperment
Chilly Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Tyler Dunne @TyDunne 5s6 seconds ago Whaley says Washington could play the 5-tech or the nose. "Game-plan specific." Won't say for sure if Dareus stays on nose. Game to game.
KOKBILLS Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Fwiw: http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2016awashington.php Pretty sure someone on TBD has booed every pick Player comparison Kawann Short??? We should be so lucky!!!
K-9 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I think it's easier to find 3s that can play the zero rather than vice versa. Too much worry about "true nose tackles" when it just isn't a concern. We've got several guys that can line up over the nose, but we don't play that exclusively, anyway. Need big guys who can shoot gaps more. GO BILLS!!!
Reed83HOF Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia 2m2 minutes ago Whaley said he expects Washington, Dareus, and Kyle Williams to be versatile and play all three positions on the D-line.
Big C Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Fwiw: http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2016awashington.php Pretty sure someone on TBD has booed every pick This article does not list Buffalo as a good fit. Don't our scouts do their homework!?!?
26CornerBlitz Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 @MatthewFairburn Doug Whaley thinks Adolphus Washington can play 5-tech and nose tackle.
K D Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 What starter would we pick here? What starting positions are still open? There's a whole thread with best players available per position: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/186238-updated-for-3rd-round-bpa-at-need-positions/ We could have had a WR or S or worst case a RT or a better NT
scribo Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 It is all about putting big bodies on Tom Brady's neck.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 @buffalobills This defense. Oh baby. Watch Adolphus Washington highlights and fear for QBs: http://bufbills.co/7xxRaN
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I have to imagine they have some sort of plan, or are confident in Woody and Hanky as the #2 and #3 for this year. Going WR next year, perhaps? If they're confident in Woods and Hankerson as number two's they will be proven wrong. Neither fit that role.
The Wiz Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Combination of injuries and lack of depth. Didn't really see Carrington, Wynn and Kyle all going down, but we definitely weren't cutting it with who we had. Pretty much my thoughts. Depth is what gets you great. Doesn't matter if it's 1 down out of 20. If I don't notice a guy on the field on defensive line then he's performing as well as the starter.
boyst Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Rotational DT. Not really excited. He's fine. might thoughts as well, perhaps better value, bigger opportunity with this pick. we both watch the bucks play. we know his value. i would have much rather waited until the 4th and hoped to get willie henry, who will essentially be just as much a rotational player at dt/nt.
