Gruden said last night that Lawson wouldn't have managed to get a sack against Stanley if they played a doubleheader. That comment has taken on a life of its own, but it's actually bulls**t. In that game, Lawson had 7 tackles and 3.5 stops for a loss. No sacks though!

Someone posted a link to every snap last night. He was tackled by Stanley for a holding penalty after whipping him for a would be sack with that spin move. He had other good rushes that resulted in rushed incompletions. And collapsed Stanley backward toward the QB on a bull rush a number of times. Also consistent and at times disruptive in the run game. It was a competitive matchup but Shaq represented himself quite well I thought.

He more than held his own against the first OLman taken last night and by a GM that knows a thing or two about OTs.

ESPN and Gruden were downright spurious in that report. They should have shown the play where Stanley and the LG double-teamed and then tackled him. It was a good, old fashioned slugfest between two great prospects all game.

LMFAO. Double team take down. The crap put on by ESPN is a freakin' joke. It is a place where old coach's and players go and spew garbage.

Still came pretty close to sacking the qb too.

I'm a ND fan and I knew when Gruden spew that bs out of his mouth he was clueless. Watched the game, the whole game, and Lawson was disruptive the whole time. He may not have had a sack, but he was causing us problems from start to finish. Stanley held his own, but Lawson was still disruptive and made plays.

Did anyone else notice that this was Gruden's task on the panel last night? To rip players? Shaq was not the only player he did this to

I did notice that. Almost as if they took a preconceived editorial stance to even out praise with criticism.

My problem with Gruden choosing the Stanley matchup is that Lawson absolutely handed Stanley his ass for half the game as well.

You guys first problem is your listening to Gruden. I liked him as our coach in Tampa, but he is a media hog. He is very narcissistic, and goes over the top.

People give him too much credibility. He's entertaining and I don't mind him on MNF, but he doesn't research out thoroughly all of his comments.

The guys I really like who put a lot into their comments are the guys on match up. By the way, I'm fine with the Lawson pic, but if any of you saw the draft series on match up, Hodge was not crazy about Lawson. He showed some examples of how Lawson has to work on his first step, and footwork at the next level. He didn't trash him, just that he wasn't complete yet, and may struggle in the beginning in the NFL.

Gruden's just doing his job. Technically, it's not an inaccurate statement. Stanley wasn't going to let Lawson sack his QB, no matter what he had to do...

He's definitely not perfect. I think he'll get up to speed pretty fast with Kyle/Marcell/Hughes helping him out.

And Bruce Armstrong handled Bruce Smith as well. Who is in the Hall. Come on chuckie

exactly... I was thinking of roberts woods handling richard sherman in college, same thing.

I guess he missed the play where Stanley had to tackle Lawson after a beautiful spin move.

That's hysterical! On the bright side, I like the way Stanley wrapped up. Most defensive players could learn from that.
