Maury Ballstein Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Perfectly fine. But the percentage of players that were from Clemson was abnormally high. It was almost like someone had a vested interest. Why would an NFL team be interested in players who played in the national championship game ? What are they doing !
K-9 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 And all of you think the team told us the truth and nothing but the truth. Didn't happen and will not happen. Sad but true. This is funny and conjures up visions of you interrogating Whaley under a light in your dark basement. Does it involve 12 volts and jumper cables, too?

4merper4mer Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Why would an NFL team be interested in players who played in the national championship game ? What are they doing ! Of course they should be interested. Do you think half of the draftable players in any year come from one school? I think that is pretty much impossible given the number of players on a given college roster and the number of players drafted.
Mr. WEO Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Yes, I think there's a distinct possibility they thought he could make it through the season without a procedure and then be addressed next January. The downside is half of a rookie season. This. I think it's far more plausible that they planned on having him play out the season and then get surgery versus creating an elaborate ruse to make it appear that way when they really planned all along to have him get surgery before the season started...and then wait for two weeks after he was drafted. Then why not tell him to put the brace on and play this season, fix it next year? Ot at least why did they let him participate without the brace last week, when "something" happened? This was no elaborate ruse. This much is now certain....
BringBackFergy Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 May have had something to do with the fatwah issued by Khomeini calling for his death. Pretty sad that they would issue a fatwah over a stupid spleen....that's probably the reason for all the ambulances around his apartment.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Stephania Bell: Injury Analyst on Lawson & Watkins (15:46)ESPN Injury Analyst Stephania Bell called in to The John Murphy Show to discuss the recent injuries for Shaq Lawson and Sammy Watkins and the possible timetable for their return.

I don't know why they didn't tell him/he decided not to wear the brace. Maybe he never had to use one during non-contact drills in college? Maybe the Bills wanted to see how he did without it since they didn't have a pre-draft visit with him to test him out? But if the plan all-along was for him to have surgery before the season, why talk about how he's a day 1 starter and why wait 3 weeks to get it done? Maybe eMoulds has/can get an answer?
Magox Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Stephania Bell: Injury Analyst on Lawson & Watkins (15:46) So what's the prognosis? Half the season?
4merper4mer Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 So what's the prognosis? Half the season? I think it is all guesswork but at this point it looks like a little less than that before he gets on the field and probably mid 2017 before he fully digests the system and becomes impactful. That assumes Rex stays. With a new coach his impact is week 1 2017.
YoloinOhio Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) So what's the prognosis? Half the season? 4-5 games per team source. Bell doesn't know anything because it's too early to tell how the player will respond and recover. She said that's why they always give a range. The range on the surgery recovery time is 4-6 months. 4-5 games would clear him to practice at about the 4 month mark. Her familiarity with this particular surgery is that 90 percent of the time it is one to which players respond very well. Edited May 20, 2016 by YoloinOhio

And can study his playbook and film like mad in the meantime. Do they have "virtual reality" for defensive players yet?

Mike in Horseheads Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 fingers crossed! He seems Iike the type to immerse himself in anything and everything he can to prepare. Could they put the brace on him and get him back sooner? I would guess not worth the risk but just throwing it out there.
DrDawkinstein Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 unfortunately, it's a fact that ethics have become passé in modern day America and especially the nfl but it goes beyond the pale to actually argue that lying is good. Mostly due to the advent of the 24/7 news cycle and the Media Entertainment Industry demanding access and information that they previously had no right to.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Could they put the brace on him and get him back sooner? I would guess not worth the risk but just throwing it out there. It wouldn't make any sense to do anything other than wait until he's 100% healthy and ready to go.
Mike in Horseheads Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 It wouldn't make any sense to do anything other than wait until he's 100% healthy and ready to go. I agree, like I said just throwing it out there. Thanks .
