Canadian Bills Fan Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 LOL Stupid, he knows that league rule states he has to be paid vet minimum CBF
NoSaint Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 LOL Stupid, he knows that league rule states he has to be paid vet minimum CBF that said, he can sign a zero bonus, no guarantees contract at vet minimum. Im not advocating it, but from a team standpoint that is essentially free as all 53 spots are going to cost that or more (on the near impossible chance he makes it).
HamSandwhich Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 He was young and dumb when he came into the league. He made a lot of mistakes and was justifiably labeled as lazy. I believe he has been humbled as he says, he's saying he would play for free for the chance. I hope he catches on somewhere and becomes a good story of perseverance. Everyone deserves a second chance....just stay away from that purple drank!
Acantha Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Can't see why he wouldn't be brought into a camp somewhere. With most teams going into camp with 4 QB's, you're inevitably scraping bottom of the barrel. But I think history has proven itself out here.
Homey D. Clown Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15384038/jamarcus-russell-says-play-free-just-wants-another-chance?sf25084093=1 Wrote letter to all 32 teams, trying to mount comeback I wouldn't let him mow my lawn for free. Not for nothing, but I wouldn't let, say..... J.P. Losman, Trent Edwards, or Vince Ferragamo do it either.
fridge Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I feel like he worked his butt off last year (maybe two seasons ago?) and no one gave him a chance then. Now he's a year (or two) older. I don't think he's getting his chance.
YoloinOhio Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) I think the only way it happens is if a team wants to do a favor for his agent in order to get another one of his clients signed. For example I don't know who his agent is but if it's, say, the same as Gilmore or Glenn's agent and they need something to just push it over the finish line maybe they bring him in as a 4th camp arm and if he looks good enough maybe he gets a chance somewhere down the line. Not likely of course but it's the only scenario I could see. Edited April 26, 2016 by YoloinOhio
Captain Hindsight Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I feel like he worked his butt off last year (maybe two seasons ago?) and no one gave him a chance then. Now he's a year (or two) older. I don't think he's getting his chance. I think he got a few workouts IIRC. He's a long shot at best. I'd love to see it because I love a good comeback story, but I doubt it happens
Freddie's Dead Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Git'r'dun. For crying out loud, we've had the door Matts, Leinart and Cassel, the slip mat Kolb, and Vince Young in here. Why not kick the tires on this guy for the vet min? Is there a better 4th QB out there?
Bills Juggernaut Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Will the collective bargaining agreement let the Bills pay him in purple drank?
Virgil Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 If this is an option, I'll do the same thing. It'd be worth it for the Jersey and the ability to see if Rex really can woo a man.
Augie Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I'm sure that he is in phenomenal shape. Round? One of the best shapes ever.
NoSaint Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I feel like he worked his butt off last year (maybe two seasons ago?) and no one gave him a chance then. Now he's a year (or two) older. I don't think he's getting his chance. his last comeback he weighed something like 310 lbs. when he was saying he deserved a shot. if he isnt 265 lbs, i wouldnt even invite him to throw for me at this point.

Then we can see how the arm is.
K D Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I'd play for free too. And by free I mean vet min which is like quadruple my salary
