Nanker
I'm too lazy to do the research, but I would like to know in what rounds the QBs were drafted. Ask, and ye shall receive... prissythecat
Penn St's Christian Hackenberg looks like a case study in reverse on how coaching changes can ruin a young developing QB. The kid looked brilliant as a freshman under Bill O'Brian and when O'Brian left for the Texans Hackenberg took several steps backwards in his development. A new and different coaching staff, new offensive scheme, and after his freshman season the O-line, WR talent went downhill bigtime. Â All this reminds me of how some inept coaches and surrounding players can hurt a young QB attempting to develop properly. Like Doug Marrone with no QB coach, a very bad O-line and OC. That said, EJ has been learning under a better OC and the Bills now have a much-improved line. So, in my view, it will be interesting to see if EJ has improved at all under Greg Roman as compared to what he didn't learn under Marrone / Hackett. Â Â Anyway, I wouldn't be against the Bills drafting a QB at any point in this draft. I think the Bills were really thinking of moving up to the number two position to draft Wentz until the Eagles beat them to it. The Bills have had Connor Cook, Cardale Jones, and Dak Prescott all into Buffalo for a pre-draft look. Should Paxton Lynch be there at 19 I'd have to think the Bills will give him serious consideration. In all probablity it will be Jones in the 3rd round. Â Â Have you considered the higher probability scenario that EJ just was never good to begin with? I love how some people still continue to blame Marrone and Hackett for EJ sucking as a QB. The BLUES Brothers
I would like to think that Whaley is so crafty that he already has a plan to sign Tyrod for extension but making it look like he wants or even needs a QB so GMs will trade Large with us so they can Draft a QB - or even trade above us and push better players down to us. Â It is probably just the voices in my Buffalo Bills crazed head of mine - but its ok- they know me there.

How about Brett Hunley? How many people here wanted the Bills to draft him? The Jets took him and they are hot for Paxton Lynch now. What happened? John from Riverside
Â That's a lot of misses for the bunch that think we should just keep drafting QB's until we hit on one. I honestly think you have to keep trying.....but in a "best value" philosophy plan...... Â Take the jets for instance.....they keep drafting them....but dont seem to commit to any of them (what the heck happened to Bryce Petty?) Â If you dont get a lotto ticket you cannot play....but dont spend the house payment in doing so please.... Bryce Petty is a similar project to Lynch. They never ran anything that resembled a pro offense. The knock on Bryce was he never took snaps from the center...now Lynch is a kid who didn't even huddle in college. Lynch is a better project but they are both similar in the time they are going to need just to get up to speed. That's why drafting him at 19 will infuriate me...if you want him to succeed your going to have to let him sit in the shadows for awhile.

Fadingpain
Depends on where. First round? No. Second round? Not likely. Third round? Likely. Fourth round +? Why the heck not? This is my thinking. Take a gamble on someone in a late round and hope we get lucky. I'm fine with that. Â The odds are overwhelming that Tyrod is, or will be better than, any of the top QBs in this draft anyway. Looking at the list provided by Nanker, you know who jumps out at me as being interesting? Â Tyrod Taylor. 6th round, 180th overall pick. He's a hell of a lot better than many other QBs who went a heck of a lot higher in various years. Â Also of note: Joe Flacco. 1st rounder, but not until the 18th pick. There's a proven, franchise, Superbowl winning QB who was available as low as the 18th overall pick. Â And we all know about Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and others. Â It's not where you pick, it's who you pick, that matters.
White Linen
I honestly think you have to keep trying.....but in a "best value" philosophy plan...... Â Take the jets for instance.....they keep drafting them....but dont seem to commit to any of them (what the heck happened to Bryce Petty?) Â If you dont get a lotto ticket you cannot play....but dont spend the house payment in doing so please.... Â That's kind of my point. If you keep drafting them you can't commit. Then you're making decisions on their future without them playing games like Petty. How in the world is that supposed to work? Some teams got lucky with a low pick i.e. Brady, Rogers and Wilson - others drafted a QB in a low draft position and they got lucky they worked out. I'd like to see if we got lucky with Tyrod - maybe he's our story. I'd like to give it more than 14 games before I determine that we should look to move on from him and draft one with a 1st or 2nd round pick. Nostradumbass
Promo's philosophy is really don't waste picks on longshots.  Remember Ryan Nassib and Matt Leinart? How about Brett Hunley? How many people here wanted the Bills to draft him? The Jets took him and they are hot for Paxton Lynch now. What happened?  If the choice at a pick is selecting a QB who has a 5% chance of being a franchise QB or a LB/OG/CB..etc etc who has 50%of being a starter take the QB  Until you have one you are just wasting everyone`s time  Flip Brady with the Rams QB last year and the Rams go 13-3 and the Pats are 4th in the AFC East. Same with the Bills
