DC Tom Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 I was thinking along similar lines - we do, after all, have the series of 50 state quarters. Why not issue a series of bills to honor or commemorate Americans prominent in our history? Counterfeiting.
Azalin Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Counterfeiting. Are you suggesting that the average American is easily duped? Just because I was able to buy a television set for two hundred Shenaniganzas the other day...... (yes, I know I'm showing my age with that) Edited April 22, 2016 by Azalin
Nanker Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 There's more? When the third version of the $5.00 note came out around 2006, I thought it was counterfeit when I first saw it. They had just redesigned it a few years before.

Just because I was able to buy a television set for two hundred Shenaniganzas the other day...... (yes, I know I'm showing my age with that) People get arrested for spending $2 bills. And have you ever tried spending a Sacajawea dollar? Having a multitude of of different bills of the same denomination is a guarantee that people will not pay attention to what currency they receive.
Azalin Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Having a multitude of of different bills of the same denomination is a guarantee that people will not pay attention to what currency they receive. That makes sense - I hadn't considered that. In Europe, the face on the euro bills differ from country to country, but they all spend the same regardless of where you are. I don't know if that factors into counterfeiting euros or not.

B-Man Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 ANALYSIS: TRUE. If you look at Harriet Tubman and all you see is, “African-American woman,” well then, you’re a historically-ignorant idiot. Related: 4 Ways Harriet Tubman Totally Kicked Ass From a Libertarian POV.
