No they placed a value on him. Anyone can be paid, this is the NFL any team can pay a guy if they really wanted to.

 

The Jets could pay Fitz what he wants... But they won't b.c they placed a value on him.

 

What value the Bills have placed on TT doesn't matter. It's what TT/his agent believe his value is/want in a new contract. I have no doubt he's looking for at least what BO got, and that deal features a $12M first year cap hit.

 

To be fair, we do, but it'd be painful if we missed on him after giving that deal.

 

If TT were willing to take a deal like Kaep got, sure they have the room, and actually I'd favor that deal. But I doubt Bakari would go for it seeing as how it didn't work out that great for Kaep, or more precisely, it could have worked out better for him.

I'd say that if the Bills truly believe that a QB has franchise changing potential, then I urge them to do what it takes to get him.

Need a franchise guy for sure.16 years of no playoffs is long enough

I don't see a "franchise" guy in Goff or Wentz. At best, they are an Alex Smith clone that will linger in the NFL for 10 years moving from team to team.

Goff looks better than Wentz but neither is top 10 or even top 31 talent in the draft IMO. Wentz is like Jake Locker. No thanks. Lynch is worse. I like Vernon Adams better than either as they will all need time to develop anyway. Might as well take one later who has as much or more upside. Edited by YoloinOhio

Really? Who says this is true? If it were true, does inquiring mean it would happen? If it happened who says they are moving up for a QB? I would guess Myles Jack is the number 1 player on their board.

 

I'd trade up for Jack...

That makes two of us. This is who I think they would be targeting too. Fits Rex's scheme in multiple ways. I wonder if he falls lower into the top ten if Whaley tries to move up to grab him.

 

No chance, the Bills are not using multiple 1's on an OT. I don't care if it's Anthony Munoz. It will be a passer or MAYBE someone to rush the passer (say they love Buckner for example). I know that they love Jack but I can't see them going all of the way to 2, maybe 7 or 8.

I have a feeling they are trying to get Jack. I wonder if Bills scouts are the ones whispering to NFL reporters about concern for Jack's knee. I doubt they would trade up to #2, but I could see them trading up to the numbers you mentioned. 7 or 8. We know he fits any scheme Rex could dream up, and we know Whaley has no #$cks to give when it comes to public or media sentiment about his wheeling and dealing.

 

not with that knee he's got. too much of a risk. i'd not take him until the late 1st. i don't like to have knee issues on lbs'. not with wrs blocking downfield like madmen.

 

 

Does he really have knee issues or are team reps who want to draft him if he were to fall because of the rumored "issues" spreading misinformation? Hmmmmm. It is draft season.

Why do you assume the trade up is for a QB?? Maybe they trade up to #2 and start talking about Wentz, but then field an offer from a team that really wants Wentz between 4-10. Then we slide back down, get to pick between 4-10 and get an extra second rounder or third rounder.

In what way does trying to trade up to #2 "doing your job" for a GM????

 

The bills do not need to be trading their future to pick top 3 in this draft. NO QB in this draft is worth a top 5 pick. They are all projects and hyped up b/c the QB class is mediocre at best. There is no Winston or Mariota in this draft.

 

Whaley should be figuring out how the hell is he going to field 4 NFL quality LB's next year b/c we easily have the worst LB's in the league, and as a fan you are crazy if you think this defense is improving at all if the LB's remain the same.

Agree 100%. If they do take a QB to groom it better be with the 2nd 4th round pick or take Vernon Adams Jr as an UDFA. He fits our offensive scheme like a glove.

This seems terrible to me I gotta know Gungy, with all the defensive holes the draft needs to fill why give away a decent QB and a million picks to sign Wentz? Why? or what do you think their gonna do with that Browns pick if it happens

yes. this is the way Whaley is thinking. this is "Whaley - time" . let the guy do his job. In personnel matters he has been right a lot more than he's been wrong...

Browns would stay if Wentz was there, Hue is on record making comments about small hands and the weather in his divisional games etc. I don't think they want anything to do with Goff and this is why 2 has so much attention.

Oh I agree - I just think the Browns are not going to trade out until the Rams have picked. They are trying to work our a deal which they could activate quickly if Wentz is gone. If the Rams take Goff the Browns will stand pat and pick.

I don't know. Wentz seems like a Fisher QB morso than Goff, but Goff looks like the best QB in the draft (particularly as a sunny weather QB). The closer we get to draft day without the Rams showing their cards the more I think it'll be Wentz. Maybe all the secrecy is really the new-in-town LA Rams not wanting to give their new fan base two weeks to freak out and revolt about them passing on a Cali, Pac 10 kid for a ND, small school kid. That'd make sense. Of course the other potential reason is that they're trying to milk a pick from the Browns to flip with them. That's not happening, but maybe they're still trying. Sirius has a big segment on him. Basically, a former team doctor came on and explained the knee tear. And how experiences with the past and other players worked out.

 

How jack tore his knee is important. It was the outside of the MCL which is the part which supplies blood flow. Normally athletes do not repair the tissue. Simply shave it or sew it. He had his repaired to restore blood flow. Basically the doctor said in 7 yrs he could barely be walking or he could make a recovery. But a full recovery is likely 2 yrs out. That it will still be weak and it was wise to have it repaired over shaved.
