DC Tom Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I've known four Great Danes. I think, between the four of them, they didn't have the combined mental horsepower to outsmart a drunken squirrel. (And I've also seen a drunken squirrel. They like peppermint schnapps.)
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Had to be a set up? I thought that @ first, then saw the scope of the situation, what the whole tree looked like. Looks logical that the Great Dane could climb up that tree. The tree looks pretty easy to get up. But, now back down for a Great Dane, whole other story. Like Tom said, the mental capacity for those dogs aren't there. Think: Marmaduke. The big thing is, can they turn themselves around to start going back down like the they went up? Probably not. If the dog could have turned itself around, probably could have walked back down. That tree ain't exactly a hard tree to climb no matter what the animal is. It is the lack of ability to turn around that caused the animal to be stranded.
