He is a German who plays American Football in Germany. Not a lot of film or time but he has stats which would make him a good WR or TE and is worth a late round pick as long as they are committed to doing language translations for him (he does speak English) and getting him to work during off season with some pro trainers. 3rdand12 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Hell yesThis is my underdog pick for the Bills. just hope he can remain a very late round pick or UDFA.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 @NFL_CFB Whirlwind pre-#NFLDraft tour for German WR Moritz Boehringer includes 8 team visits --> http://on.nfl.com/1UZ6BZS
Codyny13 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Dude is huge and flys but the level of competition out there is probably next to nothing. Worth a late round pick but I would think he'd need to sit on a practice squad for a cpl of years and hone his craft. I did read he did well against press coverage, which is encouraging, since they don't do that in Germany. Either way he does seem like a freak athlete.
Saxum Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 From what I have read he may need work as WR (routes, defenses) but he might be able to contribute on special teams. The key thing is will he have enough hands on training but since he is spending time in one of the pro training places I am guessing he will get up to speed fast.
Saxum Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 Likely 6th or 7th unless some WR sees something really translatable.
Mark Vader Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Whoever drafts him will be playing the game scheduled for Germany next year.
Saxum Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 Regarding that - Internationally games, I think the NFL should try International games first week of season giving teams extra time maybe even playing game on Saturday so more time after game for transition.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 German talent is coming to the NFL draft in 2016 @NFL German WR Moritz Boehringer runs the 40-yard dash at FAU Pro Day. The Patriots were among the teams showing the most interest. @NFL_CFB Moritz Boehringer = Jeff Janis Full scouting report (via @LanceZierlein): http://bit.ly/22VGLdR
Saxum Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/04/13/nfl-draft-2016-who-german-prospect-moritz-boehringer That is some serious interest when 8 of 32 teams want an unknown player to come visit. Hope he gets to keep the frequent flier miles. By the time Boehringer ran the 40-yard-dash, hand-timed on grass at between 4.43 and 4.5 seconds, Chiefs GM John Dorsey was on the phone with Boehringer’s agent, asking to set up a pre-draft visit in Kansas City. Teams only get 30 such visits with prospects who aren’t from their local area, and eight teams have allotted one of these visits to this largely unknown 22-year-old.

ALF Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) At least a 6th rd so far. Have to sit him a year to develop. WNY has a big German-American population who would make him very welcome. Heck draft Jaylon Smith also to sit for a year , build for the future. One mock has Miami taking J. Smith at 42 Edited April 14, 2016 by ALF
Maury Ballstein Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 We should get the rugby player who was on the 49ers too.
Freddie's Dead Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 We need to take a shot at Chloe Grace Moretz.
Charles Romes Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I heard american football had really taken hold in Germany. Still can't believe they can't make money off of NFL Europe which would be good to have again and solve the QB development problem.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 We need to take a shot at Chloe Grace Moretz. a little young, bro
Captain_Quint Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I like it. Germans have a very intimidating language, and usually scream when they talk. Not to mention, the 'Hitler reacts to the Bills drafting Moritz Boehringer' video will be classic!
