@AlbertBreer

Was told ex-Patriots DL Dominique Easley is healthy. New England cut him with guaranteed money left, effectively paying him to go away.

... Of course, the cost for New England of cutting Easley is alleviated if he's claimed on waivers. Not expensive for another team to do it.

I would grab him in a second.

Absolutely good reason not to take a chance on him until he clears waivers.

Bills file waiver claim in 3, 2, 1...

They will, but someone ahead of us will get awarded him on a claim

In a 2015 ESPN.com piece on the “rise and fall of Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators,” Jeremy Fowler wrote: “One coach on the staff said the 2010 class was the most unruly he has ever witnessed. Another player viewed by some as problematic was Dominique Easley, a five-star defensive lineman from New York who threatened to quit the team repeatedly, missing meetings as a result.”

The Cheaters must have known those reports. He also missed most of his senior season with a torn ACL and still wasn't 100% at the time of his drafting.

I'll be surprised if he goes unclaimed.

Not really since if he gets cleared then many teams can step in.

He'd only cost $1.1M this season and $1.4M next season if claimed off waivers. 2016 is guaranteed. 2017 is not and part of it is a roster bonus. That's cheap and easy to get out of. Some team will claim him for that.

i'd not sign him. i'd not be surprised if he did go unclaimed. 50/50 chance. the timing of the release, all of that... there is probably some stank on him. cutting him weeks before the draft. whew.
