keepthefaith
I could care less about his liberalism. This forum desperately needs more well spoken lefties. The problem with gatorman is that he isn't interested in discussion, debate, or even honest argument; rather his only goal is to ruin the discussions, debates, and honest arguments that everyone else is having. His goal is to make this forum worse. Maybe I wasn't serious. I only voted no to keep this close, to keep it interesting, to keep the underdog of underdogs alive. Chef Jim
Gator is frequently on the receiving end of the most brutal insults, and I think other posters see PPP as a place where liberals are ganged up on and attacked. I vote yes. You mean it's not??
DC Tom
To piggyback off TTYT, I think the treatment of gator on this board is what turns off new posters, especially lefty posters, from coming into the fray. Gator is frequently on the receiving end of the most brutal insults, and I think other posters see PPP as a place where liberals are ganged up on and attacked. Banning gator means fresher blood. I vote yes. The problem is that he's not ganged up on because he's a liberal. He's ganged up on because he's a preternatural idiot. (Quite honestly, I'm not even convinced he's a liberal. I think he's just an !@#$.) This board's not anti-liberal or anti-conservative. We're anti-moron. We've ganged up on preternaturally idiotic conservatives here before. The difference between them and gator is that they had the great good sense to stop posting. Gatorman thinks he has some sort of noble purpose in not learning that lesson. DC Tom
Won't he just come back as the next iteration of conner, molson_golden, eleganteliott, etc.? Yeah. But he's usually tolerable for the first three months. Humorous side note: you can actually identify every screen name he's used by searching the board for "stimulous." Dante
My knee jerk reaction as a firm believer in free speech is to say absolutely not! Even Gatorman deserves 1st amendment rights. But then I come to my senses and realize that right should never be granted to subversives, would be provocateurs or others that seek to infringe on my Constitutional rights. That would be hard core socialist/communist control freak authoritarians like Gatorman.

Everyone should ask themselves that question and then vote accordingly. Remember, 1st Amendment rights do not include yelling out "fire" in a crowded theatre. GG
This is a private forum where freedom of speech rights do not apply. But the societal rules of the forum should apply. Don't forget this is Azalin's private playground, and he's the ultimate super delegate.
Greg F
Why would anybody want to ban the best evidence that leftist ideology is intellectually bankrupt and fundamentally dishonest?
DC Tom
Why would anybody want to ban the best evidence that leftist ideology is intellectually bankrupt and fundamentally dishonest? His intellectual bankruptcy and fundamental dishonesty have absolutely nothing to do with his claimed liberalism.
Tiberius
This court acknowledges, as I suppose, the validity of the law of God. I see a book kissed here which I suppose to be the Bible, or at least the New Testament. That teaches me that all things whatsoever I would that men should do to me, I should do even so to them. It teaches me, further, to "remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them." I endeavored to act up to that instruction. I say, I am yet too young to understand that God is any respecter of persons. I believe that to have interfered as I have done as I have always freely admitted I have done in behalf of His despised poor, was not wrong, but right. Now, if it is deemed necessary that I should forfeit my life for the furtherance of the ends of justice, and mingle my blood further with the blood of my children and with the blood of millions in this slave country whose rights are disregarded by wicked, cruel, and unjust enactments, I submit; so let it be done! Deranged Rhino
I don't know what's more hilarious, the idea that you think you're imitating John Brown or the fact you used that quote.
DC Tom
I don't know what's more hilarious, the idea that you think you're imitating John Brown or the fact you used that quote. Quoting John Brown quoting Hebrews 13:3 ("remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them.") Quoting Doc Brown quoting "1.21 gigawatts!" would have made as much sense. DC Tom
It's also precisely the reason I can't vote yes... the entertainment value alone might be worth the asshattery. Really...I can't fathom what he's trying to say using that quote. Is he really claiming that by posting here he's being a martyr to those enslaved as he is? Is he making the subtle point that, as he makes us suffer his useless drivel, he understands and suffers with us even as he inflicts it upon us? Is he truly telling us that he's ready to forfeit his posting rights on this board in the furtherance of justice (and what justice would that be?) And how should we really respond? Should we advise him to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or instead to take arms against a sea of troubles? For in truth the nature of the poll presented is whether gatorman is to be, or not to be. Or maybe he just doesn't understand what he posted, and is once again full of ****. 7-5. Looks like it's down to the wire. Gatorman get ready for your punishment. Now why would we cut off his head? Wouldn't it be a better punishment to cut off something he actually uses? You should save yourself the indignity of The Rogues March and just slip away quietly. If you continue to post here in the manner in which you have in the past you'll probably get banned but if not, you will surely be shunned.
