I think Bills are planning a move up in the draft

The trade I would do:

Buffalo trades Tyrod and #19 to Denver for Sanders and Denver's 32nd and 63rd picks.

Buffalo trades Denver's 32nd and 63rd picks and next year's #1 to Cleveland for the #2 pick.

Buffalo takes Goff.

Wow. You mean you'd be on board with totally boning Cleveland on a horribly lopsided trade? Super. Edited by BarleyNY

If the Bills did anything like the website suggests, involving a trade of Taylor, going into the season with a rookie and EJ at QB, and giving up the ability to draft for the defense until at least the 3rd, it would be obvious to me that they are going to move on from Rex after this year, that he has no power or influence, and they are setting him up to fail. It also would show to me that Whaley thinks he has a very long leash because he would be thinking long term rebuild at QB vs going with what is currently working.

If they simply were to draft a QB in the first 2-3 rounds without trading Taylor or giving up high picks, that would make a lot of sense as long as they had that QB one of their BPA at the time they took him.

Agree with that analysis. It would indicate the only reason Pegs didn't fire Rex after year 1 was because he didn't want to immediately be seen as a hire 'em and fire 'em owner. Basically Rex would be a lame duck.

I don't believe there is any truth in the trade rumour though.

There's no way Cleveland goes for that. They would be getting absolutely nothing and moving down 30 spots, Denver's pick is 31.

The fact that Whaley and the Bills dont have starting QB money budgeted in is atrocious. The fact that they are going to name TT the unquestioned started and pay him 3 million this year is atrocious. If i were Tyrod, id be pissed. I would not be surprised if everyone close to him is telling him to get out of Buffalo as fast as he can. Im sure HE wants out of Buffalo, or 16, 17,18 mill a year. But regardless, hes chomping to get to Denver, where he would flourish. Here... What are we really expecting from the Rex led Bills this year. I know what my expectations are.

What an all around ridiculous take. The Bills are making the right play here just as the Seahawks did while Russell Wilson was on his rookie deal. Why should Tyrod be pissed when he and his agent agreed to the contract that they signed with the Bills that for all intents and purposes is a 2 year deal.

What?

They don't have money budgeted because they aren't going to pay a guy $20M/year based on 14 starts--especially not when he signed a 3-year deal with a voidable year at the end.

It really doesn't matter what anyone close to Tyrod is telling him--he's under contract, the team doesn't have the cap space to give him $20M this year, and they can easily afford to tag him next year. He's got no options.

As to him "chomping to get to Denver", well, two different folks on this board that are connected to both the team and player say that's wrong.

Homers. You guys are so wrapped up in stats and arm lengths and combine numbers you cant see the forest through the trees. Are you going to do a job for $32,000 dollars are year while the guy sitting next to you is making $120,000? Dont answer. Because clearly you three would be ok with that. I would not.

But, i was ostersized last spring for saying Whaley is an idiot for spending all that scratch on D line. And i stand by that.

What they are trying to get TT to play for this year is embarrising. Thats why his agent said what he did. And i dont even like Tyrod. But putting in all thework as a starting QB, taking every snap for an NFL franchise, 3 million? Almost criminal.

1st, our jobs are not the same as the NFL--there's no comparison

2nd, he signed a contract, and the team doesn't have the cap room. Further, they can tag him next year; he has no leverage. Go ahead and ignore that if it suits your diatribe, but that's a simple fact.

They aren't "trying" to get Taylor to play for anything. He...signed...a...contract. That's his salary. If he wants more money, he needs to sign a new deal. For very, very obvious reasons, they aren't going to give him one before next offseason.

Oh, and you're wrong--he didn't "take every snap". He missed 2 games with an injury.

Seriously man

If he is "chomping to get to Denver," then why didn't he go to Denver last year when Denver wanted him?

Don't start bringing facts into this--that was my first mistake.

He wanted to start, to prove himself, to get paid. This season is his fifth season? Yes? The clock is ticking on these guys earning potential

My biggest point is that the bills dont have qb money. Why does this team treat that position like an afterthought?
