3rd and 12, Yes, Marx argued in his "Communist Manifesto" back in the 1800's, that industrialism would create a two-class society, the haves and the

have-nots. The haves would be the owners & operators of big industries, where the real $ is made, and the have-nots would be the workers (laborers) in the industries,

just eeking out a living. Sound familiar? I studied this back at good ol' Oswego State. Go Bills

Was always bound to happen. One of the reasons the Pats are a bit unusual in that sense is that they haven't had exceptional success in the early rounds of the draft. They draft well in mid and late rounds and those guys get paid but not at the same rate necessarily. They are also good at finding role players.

that's pats are also on the unusual side because they have been able to convince good players to sign there for less then market rate, players will sign there just to get the chance of being with a constant SB contender instead of needing to overpay for guys to come to rebuilding or perennial loser teams. But the biggest reason is that the Pats have been lucky enough to be able to let guys walk when they start looking for money and find a replacement that allows them to keep winning

Sports in general are heading this route. The problem with the CBA's in the past has been the middle class. In New Orleans it is easy to justify paying Anthony Davis $20M a year but difficult to justify $10M for Omer Asik. The leagues are just catching up "fixing the glitch."

The NFL reflecting the real world economy. It seems like teams feel as though depth players are much more interchangeable and are more available on the market. And that the money used on more middle of the road players is better funneled into more high end players who are harder to find on the market. Think about how many players the Bills have signed for fairly cheap that were graded out to be decent middle of the road players and they were had for fairly cheap. So it's not a shock that teams are spending less on the middle of their roster and funneling that more towards keeping top talent.

I suspect that the players union will be looking to increase the minimum salary to try and redistribute the money more towards the lower and middle end players who make up a majority of their membership.
