But does it matter?

...a closer look at the statistics reveals that while the Patriots have been highly successful in their approach of building depth, there is not a strong correlation between playoff teams and teams that stock their roster with players making $1 million or more per season.

Of the 12 playoff teams last season, five were below the league average of 26.4 players making $1 million or more: the Packers (26; 19th in NFL), the Chiefs (25; 21st in NFL), the Cardinals (24; 24th in NFL), the Texans (23; 26th in NFL) and the Seahawks (22; 27th in NFL). In 2014, seven playoff teams were below the league average of 25.1 players making $1 million or more, including the Seahawks

I think I remember Whaley actually saying last year that he was going to have to get rid of most of the middle class

Whaley's plan from the beginning was to eliminate the bourgeoisie. This should come as no surprise. Hes the peoples' GM.

If he said it he was stoned again.

" we are going to do our due diligence "

He has a couple more cued up responses he repeats.

Very unlikely he stepped out of character and said "eliminate" much less " bourgeoisie "

He is scripted quite nearly, and not near as much fun as Nix to listen to

This is not all of the information. You have to look at a lot of factors with each team. I don't have the time tonight to bullet point all of them, but you guys are smart. Just take a deep look at the last couple of years, and make your own assertions.

You can actually assert this is a positive regarding success in the draft which is cheap labor. I'll take a look tomorrow night as interested in all of your opinions.

Was always bound to happen. One of the reasons the Pats are a bit unusual in that sense is that they haven't had exceptional success in the early rounds of the draft. They draft well in mid and late rounds and those guys get paid but not at the same rate necessarily. They are also good at finding role players.

The top 1% now has as much wealth as the bottom 90%.

Bottom line is Wall Street aka (the NFL) asked for a bailout (public financing of stadiums) for their billionaire owners all while operating as a 501c3 non-profit corporation.

No, that was Karl Marx and his essays arguing that the rise of industrialism would "get rid of the middle class."

Sorry, couldn't help it.
