YoloinOhio Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Nice tribute to Smith from an OSU writer http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Steve-Says-Smith-murder-is-another-All-American-tragedy-44732863
Kirby Jackson Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 This has been bothering me more and more as the day has gone on. It's just totally senseless.
H2o Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Yeah, this is a tough one. Young guy, beautiful family, and such a senseless act of violence.
Deranged Rhino Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 So very sad. Thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.

YoloinOhio Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Tyran Matthieu on Twitter saying he knew the guy that's been charged.did Matthieu know him from HS football? I saw the guy was a "star" HS player in Louisiana
Kirby Jackson Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 did Matthieu know him from HS football? I saw the guy was a "star" HS player in LouisianaThey played at rival high schools so that's entirely possible. I think that this guy is a little older. New Orleans is like Buffalo though, everyone knows everyone.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 10, 2016 Author Posted April 10, 2016 @NFL Statement from @nflcommish on the tragic passing of Will Smith. #RIPWillSmith
thebug Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 **** like this really pisses me off. What a waste.

New Orleans is like Buffalo though, everyone knows everyone. That and this guy was a young aspiring football player with a few million in his pocket from the NOPD incident. Purely speculation but I don't think it's a leap that Hayes would probably be in some overlapping circles with the young football crowd in Nola. Who knows, might find out he and smith had met before.

NoSaint Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I think that's entirely possible. His drug and weapons charge probably has him in the same crowd that the Honey Badger used to run with. Plot twist- the officer that smith was at dinner with and was allegedly in the impala is one of the named officers in the lawsuit Hayes brought against NOPD for killing his father.
