Blokestradamus Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Let them line up Taylor decker or Jack Conklin at LT, I'm excited about that. Conklin vs Hughes would be brutal. Speed-to-power rusher vs a guy that can't anchor for ****?
26CornerBlitz Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 @KMart_LI Here's a snippet of Brick talking about the "Concussion" movie in Dec. http://nwsdy.li/22zdymp #jets (via @Newsday)
BarleyNY Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 This is hilarious. They asked him to take a pay cut and he was like, "Nah, I'm good. I don't think that I want to play anymore." He waited until after FA so they could replace him there. Now they must go OT in the 1st I would think (unless they don't re-sign Fitz). To be fair, the Jest just asked him to take the paycut. It's not like he screwed them around thinking about it. It sure seems like they forced his hand with the paycut request. They knew he was considering retiring and had to know it might push him in that direction. Why they'd want to risk pushing him out the door is what baffles me.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 @AlbertBreer Jets will have LT options at 20, but don't assume they wait til the draft. Could look at trading for Ryan Clady, Joe Thomas or Luke Joeckel.

It is just kind of funny that it worked out that way. @AlbertBreer Jets will have LT options at 20, but don't assume they wait til the draft. ALF Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) The Jets now have $4.2M cap space with top 51+draft pool. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-jets/ They would need to trade Mo to get enough space for Fitz and a LT trade Edited April 8, 2016 by ALF
26CornerBlitz Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 @AaronWilson_NFL Jets are interested in Texas A&M tackle Germain Ifedi, have been in touch
Captain_Quint Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Don't want to see them with Thomas. Clady or Joeckel...fine by me. I dont know. Thomas was abused by Jerry in 2014, but that isnt typical of his play. Could work out for us, but it also makes the Jets better.
YoloinOhio Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) I don't think the Browns are going to trade Thomas at this point unless they get a king's ransom. They just lost their RT and center and they need to keep RG3 healthy. Never say never but I don't see them parting ways for anything less than a 1st and more, and then the jets have his contract to deal with which I don't think they can afford with Fitz too. Jets are in a tough spot. They will either need to start a rookie or use a draft pick to trade for one who is likely to be a downgrade if a team is willing to let him go. 26CornerBlitz Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 @PFWeekly D'Brickashaw Ferguson's abrupt retirement opens cap space but also a big hole for the #Jets: http://shawurl.com/2imm
YoloinOhio Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 @flipsreportNFL Rich Cimini is under the impression the Jets could pursue Broncos LT Ryan Clady via trade. Still need to pay him too

26CornerBlitz Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Jets dealing Wilkerson as part of a package to get up to #1? The Titans could use him on that D.
SinceThe70s Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I hate the Jets as much (or more) as anyone, but hats off to Ferguson for a great career. Those Iron Man stats are off the charts. He's everything you expect from a top-5 drafted tackle.
K D Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 All in for Tunsil? @johnhargz @TonyPauline is reporting the #Jets have contacted the Titans about 1st overall pick QB
Saint Doug Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 QB I agree with this. There's 3 reasons a team tries to jump up 20 spots to #1: QB, QB, and QB. This is the smart thing to do. You avoid blowing all available cap space on Fitz, pick up a real franchise QB, and there's an inordinately large bust rate for OTs picked in the top 5.
