TakeYouToTasker
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/merle-haggard-dead-legend-country-881402 Merle Haggard, who overcame a youth of deprivation and imprisonment to become one of the enduring figures in hardcore country music, died Wednesday on his 79th birthday. The singer underwent surgery for lung cancer in 2008 and had been hospitalized for various ailments over the past few years — most notably for pneumonia, which forced several concert postponements and cancellations in 2015 and this year. gomper
That sucks. One of the best shows I ever saw was Merle with Dylan 10 years ago at Shea's. The Working Man Blues he did went over really well in this city. His whole band was in their 60's and they kicked serious ass. Great night. reddogblitz
I'm bummed. I view Mama Tried to one of the greatest C&W songs of all times. I love the way Merle sings on this collaboration with Asleep at the Wheel on the song St. Louis Blues. One of the all time greats for sure- Edited April 7, 2016 by reddogblitz
